Need Suggestion on Front Lights

Many of you know I'm working on a drag only CL. I have a one piece front end with painted on Headlights. The rules call for working headlights and I don't want to cut out the painted ones and use the factory beams.

So my Idea is to place some decent Fog Type lights in the stock location. The Fog type lights must be pretty strong yet somewhat camouflaged and smooth/aerodynamic in nature.

Lets hear from you lighting experts. Thanks.

What about the fogs from the 2nd Gen TL?

They can easily be retrofitted with HID's.

Very bright, small, affordable, flat rectangular shape wouldn't take up much room in the bumper.

Perhaps something like this http://cgi.ebay.ca/JDM-Projector-Fog...3%3A1|294%3A50
Hella glass fog projectors with HID kit.
Only downside is you'd have to fab up some mounts/brackets but you'll probably only have to cut out small circles rather than big rectangles and your get some decent output for fogs. I don't know just a thought. Good luck hope you find what you're looking for and post pics when you're done.

thanks for the suggestions, I like the projector setup, but trying to stay away from HID type. It's just more weight. Any suggestions on conventional halogens?

bag the HID idea. But halogen projectors with the cut off taken out would work very well. I got a few subie friends that've done that and its almost like the high beams are on.

I would just say to cut out the painted high beam part of the headlights and replace them with some foglights that would fit flushly. If not would a square of led's that fit the stock fog location work? They would probably weigh less than any fog light combo and cause less strain on the electrical system.

What do the rules actually call for as far as headlights go? Could you get away with one white LED on each side as "headlights"? Its light

You know how bright those in-car LEDs are on police cars - wonder if you couldn't get some fogs behind the glass against the dash. Don't lose any aero that way, and don't have to hack on that pretty front end.

My suggestion would be OEM fogs with retro fitted HIDs and then tinting them red

I have my fogs tinted blue with hids and the light out put is great I did have them tinte black put there was next to no light out put but tinting them with a color tint is alot better
