Need a part number - under body plastic

Does anybody know what the plastic covering underneath our cars is called (or a part number)? The plastic on my car is torn so a piece 'hangs' because it's completely detached from the rest of the covering.

I was searching on http://www.acuraoemparts.com/delray/...ll&ListAll=All

I've probably gone through over half the categories now, with no luck.

instinctellekt,

I would try scouring acurapartswarehouse.com for the plastic under-tray for your Acura CL. Sorry for the brief response but I'm at work right now and I don't have time to provide a more extensive answer

I'll try searching for the part later though!

Oh man, that happened to me before. The splash guard connecting the L and R inner fenders fell down.

I had just changed the oil and I was going ~80mph, and I thought my oil pan fell off or something. Rope and tape will fix it temporarily.

I found it cheapest at acuraoemparts.com. Cost me about 50 bucks for the center piece, but you might need to buy the clips too. They are 80% chance gonna break when you change the fender.

54.05 shipped from Curry Acura:

That is assuming you need part 5 from civic's link. The part number is in there too.

If it is #5, order it from a Honda dealer. Its the same part on the 98-02 Accord, but its cheaper from a Honda dealer.

Bring a print out of the price to a local dealer and they may be able to match it so you wont have to pay shipping.

MAGAuto.com has it listed for $48.

I didn't realize there were multiple parts to the under body plastic, going to have to check exactly which piece I need. Thanks for responses!

Another quick question though--does this part even provide any protection, or is it cosmetic more than anything else?

A bit of both. It smooths the air flow and blocks dirt and water from getting into the engine bay (not entirely obviously). They definitely serve a purpose.

I ran without it for a very long time. No problems. If you drive off road, it will definitely protect the engine bay from rocks.
