Need Brake Help Please!

I just finished installing my drilled rotors and axxis pads, but the pedal still feels soft as hell. I didnt change or disconnect the brake lines when I was doing the installation. Does anyone have any idea how I can fix this problem? I almost have to push the pedal to the floor in order to come to a complete stop.

Thanks in Advance

Isn't there a breakin period?

I just got my Hawk pads installed today, along with a resurfacing of my rotors, and I'm breaking 'em in slowly. The first 5 miles or so, the car didn't seem to stop too well, but it's getting better. After 50 or so miles, I'm gonna do some sudden brake checks to see how well they hold up compared to the stock ones I had for so long.

you have to bleed the brake lines. even if you didnt disconnect any lines you still have to bleed the brakes alittle

Makes no sense. Unless lines were d/c, no bleeding is necessary. How does air get in if he never d/c the lines? Brake fluid is constant in a the caliper and lines, you can move the caliper all you want, as long as you don't break the line, d/c, or otherwise, no bleeding is necessary.

IMO, it seems like you may compressed the piston too much and broke the seal. Maybe not. But if you did, yikes. You may need to rebuild the caliper. Check to see if you're leaking brake fluid. Check the MC level. IMHO, don't drive the car.

Holding the pedal all the way to the floor is a safety issue, I wouldn't drive a car where I have to depress the pedal ALL the way down to stop.

Proper break-in or pads and rotors is NOT slowly per-say. Right when they're installed, you MUST bed the brakes. Pad and rotors come from the factory with tolerances that are to be fixed by the driver (raised rotor surface, pads, etc). A few 40-0 & 60-0 (3-5 normally) hard, but not locking the brakes, is necessary to bed brakes properly. After that, don't go hard on the brakes for 500 miles. Don't RIDE the brakes for the same miles too.
