NAV update 2.11c worth the money?

I am trying to decide whether or not it's worth updating my navigation dvd to the 2.11c version. Does anyone have any experience with this in the PA/NJ/DE/MD area?

Alpine won't give me a straight answer about what has been changed...just that California has a lot of addtions. The girl on the phone didn't seem to grasp the concept that I do not care about California because it's kinda on the opposite side of the country to where I live.

Any thoughts? It's only $185, but I still don't want to waste the money if nothing really has changed.

Did you look at www.acuranavi.com? They have listings of the upgrades with respect to city.

I know streetwise, I have not seen too much of a change for urban Philadelphia. I know that others have posted that there are numerous additions of streets in the smaller cities of this region.

There has been a very large increase in the POI database -- this is the primary reason that I got the upgrade.

If you want the latest and greatest for your navi, then get it. If things are fine the way they are in the areas that you travel, then don't bother.

I would guess that 2.11c is the last upgrade our navi system will get.

...and welcome to A-CL.com!

Contained in the DVD disc (version 2.21) are two types of digital map coverage...
They came out with 2.21?

I'll probably just get it. What's the point of having a navi system without the latest software. I did notice a few days ago that heading down Route 1 in Delaware threw the entire system off. Maybe this update will fix the issues.

I can tell you from experience that if you drive to new places often, it's probably worth it. I travel all over MD daily and hardly ever go to the same place twice. There are MANY places where the navi just doesn't have the data. I'm not on the latest ver. and am ordering the new one as we speak.

I had the exact same problem yesterday while in Maryland. All of the major roads are there, but none of the smaller ones that I actually needed to get to. Hopefully a new disc will solve the problem. Let me know how you make out.

just get the latest update because it is markedly different from the last update, and this will probably last the life of the car 'cuz they ain't coming out with a new one ever again.
