This is from my350z.com
http://www.my350z.com/forum/showthr...&threadid=59436

Looks like 438whp @ 8psi:

Well, after 5 weeks of waiting, the happiest day of my life is here. I now have the car back and have dyno'd the car with 3 different boost settings. The highest boost is 8.5 psi and 450rwhp. There is a 5psi mode at 350 rwhp and a 8psi mode at 438 rwhp. I know.... enough talk, here are the pics. I have the dyno if I can attach the file too!

This thread was posted on StangNet, I was never a fan of the 350Z. In fact I sat in one and I felt like I was sitting too low. Anyways the first glimpse of this car my jaw dropped!

Whoa.. dude your one sick puppy to spend this kind of money but I love it! Its amazing I wouldn’t change anything what so ever. In fact I was in the market for a 2004 Cobra but now I am doubting myself. I added up the list of mods you listed on your page.

and this is what the total was.

Vertex Full body kit $1996.00
Blitz rear spoiler $698.94
5Zigen HYPER 5ZR 20-Inch 3pc Wheel $4980.00
TEIN FLEX coilovers with TEIN EDFC $1674.00 TEIN EDFC+ $342.00
Rotora High Performance brake system -Front, Nissan 350Z $2515.50
Rotora High Performance brake system -Rear, Nissan 350Z $2065.50
GReddy Twin Turbo for the 350Z -Z33, Nissan 350Z $6552.00

Total: $20,822.94

I don’t know if I can justify spending that much but I sure am going to ponder it in the next few weeks. I promise that if I do indeed buy a 350Z and mod it, I will buy all the parts from your source since your the reason I would be spending this much money.

BTW you never listed your gauges.. oh well I am sure I can find them. Keep up the good work, the 350Z has my 110% full respect!

20,000 in MODS is sure a tough call to make and I doubt that total includes paint & labor on all the installs.
Add in the original cost of the Z and you’re well over 50K.
That’s puts you in the price neighborhood of lots of other HOT cars right out of the factory, but they won’t be as unique as this one.

And don’t forget, he SELLS all this stuff and probably uses the car as a tax write-off for “business purposes”.

Exactly, you can get a brand new Z06 with a warranty for that price. The Z06 will be just as quick in a straight line and smoke the Z in the turns. You see a lot of Z06s around, but not many cars like this.

WoW, thanks for all the mad props!

So many questions, I can't answer them all now
Feel free to email me at tim@autocarparts.com

The gauges are Defi Meter BF Gauge

On the list of mods on the Project Z page, their is some old info there, that I have to update
I do not have TEIN suspension, and the Blitz spoiler
I have Eibach springs, and stock spoiler.

Total investment in this car, including purchase, is almost $40K
That is with ACP cost on parts (which saves a thousand or so) and me doing the laber (probably saved a couple thousand there)

Approx times on this car-
This is with 5.5 of boost (which is nothing)
Motor Trend #s with same set up (Greddy TT)

0-60 4.61
1/4 mile 12.79/106.53

http://www.motortrend.com/features/...308_tuner_350z/

Guesstimate with my boost up to 7.5-8
0-60 low 4 secs
1/4 mile High 11's
550 HP @ Flywheel - 450 HP to rear wheels

I will agree on the straight line being about the same
But disagree in the turns comment
The Z handles awesome
Check out the #s Motor Trend recorded in the link above in the Slalom

With the power from the TT setup and the suspension changes, his car would be very competitive with the Z06 at the track IMO

You guys have obviously never seen a Z06 on a roadcourse. The Z would need R compounds, full suspension, and race pads to be competitive with a well driven stock Z06.

not saying your wrong, but post some facts w/links on lateral g's, etc. not sure how you can support what you just said considering this is one of the first Z's that can actually keep up with the z06 on a roadcourse acceleration wise and a side by side comparo hasn't happened yet...remember this z's got 20's too so it's gonna stick in the turns more than a stock z. kinda sounds like you're talking out your ass.

Do you have Slalom #s on the Z06 ?

I installed 14" Big Brake Kit on All 4's
6 Piston Front, 4 Piston rears, with comp pads
I know the braking isn't an issue....

How about i post lap times at Gingerman. MT recorded 1:34 lap times using the current C5R driver Ron Fellows in a bone stock Z06. My friends relatively stock Z06 with R compounds and pads runs ~1:31-1:32 per lap. Now, I have read a few owners run their 350Z's at the same track and post times that were nearly 10 seconds slower per lap. Driver skill has a lot to do with the lap times, but 10+ seconds is huge on a 1.88 mile course. I can see a 350Z with R compounds, Pads, and suspension knocking 6-8 seconds off the lap time, but that still slower than a stock Z06. BTW....20" rims suck for handling.

IIRC they ran from 67-70 mph. With the BB kit and pads, your tires are going to be the limiting factor now.

how can you compare a stock z's lap time with what you think a greddy tt's time would be. the disparity between the stock Z and the z06 may be due to acceleration difference only...so you haven't proved your point IMO. and also, I know 20 inch rims suck for acceleration and ride due to unsprung weight and smaller profile tire, but i've never heard about them being bad for handling...please explain why you say this.

I was using it to show how big of a difference there is between the 2 cars stock for stock on a technical track. Gingerman is not a hp track, rather biased toward handling and braking. The TT car wouldnt really be able to show its power on this track. 10 seconds per lap is a huge difference between the two cars and it would take a lot to overcome that.

20" rims arent good for handling because of the unsprung weight also. Lighter rims also effect handling and braking. IIRC When you lose one lb unsprung weight, it is about equal to losing 8 lbs sprung weight. A lightwieght 17 or 18" Forged rim is a lot better.

BINGO!

You want to compare handling between the 2
(not performance + handling, like you are doing with your track lap times)
look up Z06 #s in the Slalom

Quick search for Z06 Slalom #s brings me to this link
http://www.aceesolutions.com/vette/perf.html
Which shows the 2 have very similar times
That time shows the Z06 being slightly slower then the Greddy Z times, but I am sure if you look enough, you could find #s the other way around

Point is, your comment Z06 will smoke the Z in the turns
Is off base

Snook's Z is produces similar power to a stock Z06, is a similar weight, similar weight distribution, has a upgraded brake kit (the Z stock braking ability is no slouch either).

I think the stock Z06 might have an edge, but it would be slight at most IMO.. But who truly knows... BTW, I am not comparing a modded Z06. That would kill the Z
