My thermometer doesn't give an accurate reading

I just bought an Acura CL-S, all white, 2001 model. It's two days old. I love it!

But my outside thermometer gives rather erroneous readings. It is some 5-6 degrees warmer than the actual outside temp.

Where is the temperature sensor located? Is it really reading the paving below, or the outside temp?

How can I have it fixed?

You can adjust the reading... do a search on this site because it has been discussed before.

Also, check the FAQ in my sig.

Check your manual. The manual also says that the thermometor doesn't give the right reading till you go at a certain speed.

The outside temperature sensor is in the front of the vehicle, just ahead of the A/C condensor. The sensor is about 12" above the road surface, which may influence it's reading (dash indicated temperature above the "bank sign" temp.). Also if the vehicle isn't moving the heat radiating from the coolant radiator and A/C condensor will influence the dash temp. readings (higher).
