Looks awesome! Is it mounted to the car in any way? Or is it rubbing against the body of the car while driving....the part where the pipe enters the hole in the bottom?
Great install anyways.....how long was the total install and make?

The total install and make was about 4 hours I guess. Most of the time spent was on removing the stock airbox, resonator, and assorted other pain in the ass parts I had no idea where they were mounted in. I did not have to remove the bumper, instead i took 3 plastic fastening clips and one screww off of the splash guard under the car and removed te resonator with a socket wrench. To dissasemble took about2 hours as i did not want to break anything, and about 2 hours with the assembly and install. It is not hard bolted to the car, but it does have a custom 3/4" rubber stopper fitted against the hole through to the filter that torques the pipe dow very well and keeps it from rubbing or knocking

The filter I used was an APC 151290. I ordered the K&N filter but for now this will have to suffice...Hopefully they will let me return it Tuesday when the K&N arrives.

Looks fantastic. Any idea on HP? I wanted to work on suspension mods first, but for that price to get some HP sounds great. Also, help me out here, what does this mod do to the warranty?

In terms of warranty I "believe" that bolt on modifications generally do not void the warranty. But this requires removal of the entire stock intake assembly with replacement of a new non-OEM intake. If it were just a high flow filter from K&N of the drop in type it would not void the warranty. So unless you hydrolock your engine or it can be provent that the intake is directly responsible for engine failure you should be in the clear. Just a side-note: I dont remember the actual statuate however, you can not void a warranty by the filter alone unless your manufacturer provides replacements for free. This is the only glimmer of hope if you do get into an issue of warranty with Acura. I'll see if I can find the statuate #.

I think there is a act that protects us against warranty things. Something like as long as they cannot prove that the damage to the car was directly because of the aftermarket part, then we are still under warranty. Magnusson-Mass Warranty Act. Hope that is right..

Hey Xeph... how about a deal for a fellow Jersey-boy? Serioulsy, did you run the intake down toward the ground? If so what the water situation. Fluid intake thru CAI is not cool. I wanna see in real life.

GTO2050,

Forgot to answer the rest LOL, It is run all the way down to about an inch or two off the bottom of the splash guard in the corner under the headlight assembly. In regard to water intake.... Hydrolock would suck but i really dont think its an issue unless driving through at least 8" of water as there is a splash guard under the entire front of the engine bay and that water-level would pretty much have to touch the filter to generate enough vacume to pass through the filter and entire CAI Pipe. But as a preventative measure I have ordered the AEM Bypass valve and will fit it against the base of the stock assembly just after the mass air flow sensor.

I have uploaded my collection of pictures of my car and intake to http://TypeS.50megs.com/index.html

At the bottom youll find two audio clips of the Nighthawk Type-S sounding like a ferarri The clips i recorded tonight on my way home... They are a bit annoying and crackle as i used my laptop in my car to record them.... save them locally and use sound recorder to play !!!!!

$125 and one could be yours too

nope it's normal, K&N's don't make a difference, what you can do is turn your AC and fan off though
