My Navi is bugging out

I need some help, yesterday when I turned on my car my navi didn't start. So I then restarted my car and then is started fine. Today I go to work and my navi is fine when I return like around 5pm my navi went crazy it kept shutting off and turning on. A message appeared saying that the Navi door was open and no disc was available/cannot read disk. This has never happened, I hope my navi is not crapping out on me. Could it be the heat? Anyway I'm going tomorrow to the dealership to get it check out along with the purge solenoid valve that keeps ticking. Any thoughts or advice? THanks

mine did that acouple times too, wouldnt come on, told me the disk was not readable etc... but it stopped so i didn't worry about it.

and the ticking noise, is it coming from under the brake/clutch fluid res. near the firewall? cause mine is ticking there and its annoying as hell, please let me know if it is and what they do to correct it

i had the same problem, turned out that the door on the navi box was coming loose from the bass in the trunk. took it to the dealer and they tightened it up.

So the dealer told me that it was the "purge solenoid valve" that was making that ticking sound. They mentioned it was normal and not to worry about it. Hmmmm..there was another memeber here on this forum that made the dealer replace it and the sound stopped. So I'm going to the dealership later on today and see if they can do that.
The Navi issue. They mentioned that the Navi was fine and couldn't recreate the problem...duh!!! The Tech checked it out and mentioned nothing was wrong with it. I really think it was the heat...the car temp inside was like 90 degrees when I started but then again I've had the car for 2 summers on hotter days and this has never happened to me.

Of course the dealer couldn't recreate the problem but they mentioned if it happened again they would check out more. If it goes bust the dealership said since they've looked at it and documented that I had issues with it they would replace it.

the clicking noise from the purge solenoid valve is normal...u can replace it as many times as u want...it's a solenoid it's supposed to click on and off and make noise. However...it shouldn't do it all the time. only when the ecu is running a self diag of the evap system. But like I said...unless it's really really loud...a new one will click as well.

As far as the navi...try and take a picture the next time it happens and bring the pic in to the delaer so they can't give u any shit. They will prolly order u a new unit if they have any knowledge.
