Thumbs up My Exhaust Mod

Type-S exhaust is very nice sounding already. Not loud, but deep. Add some headers and it'll help bring out the sound. But what if that's not enough for you? Would anyone be interested in knowing how to open up any exhaust (not just stock) for less than $150 (I'm not selling anything, just sharing info).

Well me and kenny figured out a way how to. Would you guys be interested?

if headers and icebox isn't enough for you, then the rt cat would be the next step. it made mine more agressive without getting to loud. at anyrate i'm interested to see the "mystery mod"

Before

After

You'll notice that there are two "wonks" at rev. its the header's resonance.
The driving video isn't as loud as it should be. Mic on the camera sucks.
MODS could you attach this to the original post, but leave the comments? thanks

I have the same resonance with my headers... Kinda annoys me at times but strangely enough, it sounds like a BOV at other times...

lol, i'll try to get a better video... once i list exactly what i've done everyone would flame just because everyone is so superficial. it's been done on a legacy forum and it happened exactly the same way.

My guess is that he took off the resanator. I did that when i 1st got the car. It was ok when the car was warmed up but every time i started the car and drove it had a rattling sound to it and din't sound very cool.

negative. it would be WAY louder than that. listen to allmotors car or thinjims. they have that.

it sounds to me he just pulled the resonator out.

Yeah bypasses are super loud. There's a reason they call them hell's gates. A couple of supercharged SHO guys ran them for fun. I don't see them doing anything for the CL if it's not boosted. You need some of the back pressure.

They probably just pulled the sound deadining out of the mufflers and welded it back up.

ALL WRONG! i didn't remove resonator. i didn't remove anything. i did add something. it wasn't that bypass thing though.

the difference was noticeable in person. this mod would be better for stock cl-s, it takes only 5 minutes to do and you don't have to jack up your car.. unless u're that big.

i'll get a better video and pix of the mod later.
