My 03 CLS6 Quest To Run 12.99 N/A & 12.50 With Nitrous

Weight of the wheel AND tire has just to much to do as dia
get too small with our relatively short gearing in 1 and 2 with the likely hood of spinning the tires more easily and you will be shifting more often/sooner causing lost time. Having a heavy rim OR tire (not all tires weigh the same) will cause lost time as well.
I ran a 13.4 at 104 with my 255/35/18s last summer with traction being a issue in 1st an the shift to 2nd. I would have never come close to that number with my stock 16s![2 Cents](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/2cents.gif)

I forgot to mention that you would want a 15-16in wheel to be at least 7in wide. There was a member here with a Maxima (sparks03max) who ran mid 12s @108 with his setup. I believe he was on 15" wheels and ran drag radials that were 225/60/15s at the track. He was putting down 280whp and probably 260wtq and pulled 1.7 60's. 225s are NOT wide, but it was the correct tire combo for his setup. If you search his posts he had a pretty good run down of his setup and did very well at the track, consistently too.

that gearing thing i basically argued a similar point years ago after i had gone 13.79 but before 13.30 essentially i said a 20 hp increase may result in me making 50whp as i cross the line over my previous setup ... assuming i was crossing at 6200 at 13.79 at 6600 at 13.3
btw the auto stock gearing has fuel cut occur at around 113mph in 3rd so pretty perfect for the 1/4

Yes, weight has a large effect as well. I totally agree. But if you had the proper DRs on your 16" setup, I guarantee you'd have run faster. See below.

Also when my clutch was new i would often launch in 2nd as it was much easier to control wheel spin and my car wasnt any slower doing so. Now that there is 200k on the clutch it isnt as strong and doesnt let me do so without slipping some.

[QUOTE=1foxbody;13730820]What year legend calibers do I need to look for? Are the nsx calibers identical? Yeah I just have some cheapo rotors on there now, they suck. One of the main reasons I never upgraded my rotors is I was afraid even good rotors would still warp.
Part numbers for the legen calipers are FRC10627 and FRC 10628. You can get them from Dave'sdiscountautoparts.com for 100$ including shipping and core charge. I just did mine along with the brake motive cross drilled and slotted rotors with pads so all I paid was 245$ for rotors pads and 2 POT calipers

I'm going to run bias ply slicks so they are a lot lighter than a drag radial tire of the equivalent size. I'm also going to run a drag wheel. I'm sure with both of that combined it will be a few pounds less per wheel/tire vs stock. It will have less un-sprung and rotational weight so I'm sure that will help. By using a 16 inch wheel I can run a tire with a decent size sidewall. Slicks will be more forgiving to different track conditions and less abuse on the drive train, especially with a manual car vs a drag radial tire.
Jcharged with the legend calibers do we use cl brake lines, rotors, and brake pads? The only thing we use is the actual caliber correct? Keep in touch with me once you get your bbk thanks.

For the legend calipers you might want to get the shim for the legend. The one that goes against the pistons. #13 in this link.

I am having a noise issue with mine and hoping this will solve it. Will be replacing shims, pads, and fluid tomorrow.

once i get my new intercooler and clutch in after this weekend, it should be wonderful. i am getting a retune with all the torque management taken off and upping my timing a bit for more midrange power. i should be around 330whp and 400wtq, and putting it all down with a stage3 6 puck clutch..i will putting some videos of me blowin the tires off and running at the track by summer...lol
hope all is good with you buddy

The bmw m5 I'm supposed to run this weekend won't happen because the guy is going out of town. There's still another person that wants to run anyways tomorrow night a 06 civic si with about 420whp running a precision 6262 turbo. It should be a good run. He lost to the bmw last night by a couple of cars so will see what happens lol.

The Si may be a decent run. He should get you though since he weighs ~400+ lbs less, is making more power and has better gearing. And the M5 will slaughter you. Not sure why you think you have a chance lol. They run mid 12s @115 stock. The one you speak of is probably trapping 120+.

I had to come back for revenge a week later. I upped the shot to 145 and put the exact jets the shot calls for since I have a f.a.s.t. dual sensor wideband on the car now. When I datalogged the afr's they were 11.1's-12.0's at wot on the nitrous so that's perfect. This time the outcome was a little different lol. I walked him on the top end pretty good this time even with my clutch slipping slightly. We did a three wide race with my friends bolt on LS1 camaro also. He couldn't hang though.
I actually never got to run the bmw M5 yet. Everyone thinks it's going to be a very good race since the M5 beat that car by about as much as I did. It's going to be a very close run. I will make sure to post videos once we run. I want to buy my new clutch and aluminum flywheel first though. My stock clutch can't keep up with the larger shot at all.
First race on 95 shot with two jet sizes larger than what the shot calls for so I'm sure it was on the rich side.
Second race.
Three wide race with me on the 145 shot and exact jets it calls for, and slightly slipping clutch lol.

In those videos I have a set of hoosier quick time pro slicks on the car. They are still considered a dot tire but is a bias ply slick. The size is 26x9.5-16's. I have them mounted on a set of 02 cl-p wheels which are only 6 1/2 inches wide. I couldn't pass up on the deal my friend gave me on the tires so I'm temporarily going to run this setup until I buy drag wheels and a larger tire. The car hooks very well with them especially from a dig.
I ran a friends 03 bmw M3 6 speed with stock gears and a cold air intake. He let off as soon as I shifted into 4th because I started to creep back lol.
I ran the same car again but he put 4.10 gears in a week later. He really started to pull a lot harder on the top end with the new gears.

I also ran a friend of mine in his 430whp 05 ap2 sc s2k. The first run my clutch slipped horribly since the bottle was nice and hot so it hit hard. I got to run him two times without my clutch slipping and walked him both times. I only have a video of one of the runs without it slipping.
#238
6mt swapped..smart
Holy hell impressive kills dude.. what's the need for the dual sensor wb though? Was that borrowed from your stang? Do you always leave the bottle open? What do you do about clearing the line once you close it since you don't have a purge?
#239
I only open the bottle if I'm about to run. It's mounted in the middle of the back seats on the center console. The bottle is within arms reach. I've always purged the nitrous and fuel into the engine over the years just a quick blip of the button before I run.
Some people only have nitrous purges and I don't like that setup because there's no way to purge the fuel of air. It's all really a preference. Some people like doing it my way and some don't.

Damn, you really need a clutch ![rofl](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/rofl.gif)
If you get the CM FX300, be VERY gentle during the break in, otherwise itll start slipping in less then 5k miles. Fries went through 2 or 3 of them, I forget.
