I am on the freeway and come up to a 98 (approx) Mustang. When he sees me, he is revving up and I must admit, the Mustang growl is very impressive.

Traffic was heavy, so both of us kept looking for breaks. We had 3 spurts when traffic opened up.

Let me tell ya! Man, that Mustang was definitely pulling away from me but not by much. We tried 3 times, the last being on a slight incline with same results. So so cool to still be on his tail at the end and know that he could not run away from me.

For someone with 8 bangers and 5.0, I think our CL-S is pretty awesome...

a Vette? haha, then prepare to get your ass spanked HARD!!! Mustangs are pretty much the slowest V8 of all.... I have a CLP, and I raced with several 98GT, not the newest one... Even I can beat them till 95mph, I dun see why you cant!

Don't even think about Vetter, maybe not even Z28.

ya i was on the highway once when a stang 5.0 the old hatchback ones the one vanilla ice rode well ya from 110 kmh to 220 kmh we were neck and neck i was surprised he was with one passenger and iwas by myself i dunno i was amazed by that

I wouldn't try racing a Z28 with a CL-P either for that matter. Those things are beasts. Stock to stock, I think they got somewhere over 100HP on you.

If it was indeed a 98 GT, you chose wisely which Mustang to race. That (96-98) is the slowest of the bunch. Stock, they are neck and neck with a CL-S in the 1/4. 14.9 give or take a tenth or two.

Vette, you won't do very well against the current C5. One of the late 70s, early 80s models you might be able to beat, particularly the '83.
