Must-haves for upkeep?

Must-haves for upkeep?
Been really enjoying my new red CLS...just put 1000 miles on it. Only annoying thing is that it has stalled twice, both times from a cold start and seemingly when it was about to shift from 1st to 2nd. Bad alternator?
In any event, I was wondering what y'all think are the must-haves to keep it nice and long-lasting? I'm thinking of things like cleaning supplies, leather conditioner, etc...also, what tire pressure do you try to keep your stock wheels at? 32 or higher?

In Fl. with a black on black car (like mine) you've got to have a Evolution 4 car cover. Other than that I apply Lexol once a week and wax (Turtle wax emerald series) it about every other month. Even though the Michelin's never lose any air pressure I think you should also have an accurate tire pressure guage!

The waxing combo I use is Klasse/Blitz. You can find more info on it, at autopia-carport.com forums section. Very good source of info for upkeeping.

take it from a fellow red owner, Meguiar's Gold Class gives such a shine, it's showroom. my baby still looks like the day i got her last year. Zymol is the stuff i use on the interior. it's called Zymol Protectant, and it works on the leather, vinyl, and the plastic on the interior. makes the leather rich and slippery while making the plastic and vinyl deeper, more lusterous.

Talk to NOVAWhiteTypeS - he recommended so many things to me I don't even remember what they all were, but they all looked like good things to have for upkeep.

A good tire pressure gauge. I use 34 front, 32 rear.
A good wax: Meguire's Gold.
A good leather conditioner: Eagle One Leather Conditioner.
A good Vinyl protectant: Zymoil
Scheduled maintenance checks.
A good motor oil: Mobil1
Good 92 octane or above gas.
Common sense.

There's better things out there then Meguairs Gold. Either go with Zaino or the Klasse/Blitz combo. You will get the best shine, and durability.

I used Zaino, only the Z5 initially, one coat, and it's great - bugs wipe off with a cloth- I normally don't even need water- Nothing sticks to it! And when I wash the car, I run my hand in front of the sponge feeling for ANYTHING.. but I never do!
Putting on second coat tomorrow, Z5 then Z6

I agree on the tire gauge, another must have is the "Absorber". It sucks water off the finish after washing, saves a ton of time, lasts forever, and costs less than 10 bucks.
