MPG on my 03
Just filled the tank.
Ran on "E" for 20 or so miles and it took 15.45 gallons.
Drove 289.4 miles.
That's 18.7 mpg.
I can live with that. I'd estimate 25% was highway.

Anyone know why the mpg estimates went up for 03? I went to the dealership the other day to check out the new CLs and noticed that for the auto it's 20 mpg city, and 29 hwy. Didn't used to be 19/29, or am I crazy?

My 2002 CL-S sticker says 19/29 and I hope it gets there soon. LOL! I have 650 miles on the car and got 17.6 mpg so far but from the feedback I have received I think it will improve after it breaks in.

Not too bad. I am used to it since my last two cars have had limo all the way around. I will have to take some pics this week. The only pics I have so far are located here:

Re: MPG on my 03
I haven't calculated MPG yet but I am getting about 250 to the "E" mark and only filling up until the pump clicks. I am filling about 13.675 on one of the fillups so it sounds like we are in the same ballpark. Too bad we can only use Premium or else I might actually be saving some money from my Jeep.

I bet I easily hit 35MPG on a long trip with this car once its broken in.
In 6th gear 60MPH is only 2,000 RPM on the tach.
70MPH is about 2,600 and 80MPH is just under 3,000RPM

Tel1sps's number's sound a little low. Shawn's sound right for the 6 speed based on the calculations I saw when the ratios were announced.
Hey Shawn, what does you manual show for the max speed in each gear?

I did change my tire size so my numbers might be slightly off... but 80 mph on the turnpike is low 2100 to 2200 rpm's...
I guess the 6speed is geared much lower to crank 3000 rpms at 80!!! Sounds like fun
