I'm telling you guys, our cars can do 0-60 in 6.1 , all depends on what kind of launch get and the temp outside.
the 6.01 I got from gtech was in 25 degrees weather. and after 3 or 4 runs.

Comptech Headers, Comptech Sways, Eurolite Xenon Crystal high beams.
me.
gtech 0-60 6.03 w/ 438 pound load. preheader.

My time slips are better then their TL-S's are ... nahh nahhh naa naaa LOL
** Also my actual best GTECH 0-60 was 5.6 sec in one direction and 5.8 back the other way... but I still am unsure as to how reliable this is for "real" times. It is def. a great benchmark to see how much it improves w/mods but for a "true" time reading.....take it to the track and look at your 60' and 1/4 mile **

I think the TL-S and CL-S should be close. I think (not sure) about what temp they do the tests at. They could have also had a "really" small test driver for lower weight (j/k).

A stock cl-s should be mid 6's..... 6.5 - 6.6
Ya never know what the car mags do to get their numbers.

1. driver or occupants weight
2. Full tank/(1/2)/low? -- or set policy on this
3. Temp, baro, humidity.
It would help me make decisions about cars. I would hate to find out some great car got tested on a 120 degree day with two Sumo Wrestlers in it

Yeah, if you ran the pair together at the same time I think you'll find them extremely close.... The curb weight of the CL Type-S is 3510 lb. (3525 lb. with Navigation System), and the curb weight of the TL Type-S is TL Type S - 3558 lbs. (3574 lbs. with Navigation system), so I would expect if there is any advantage it would be to the CL because of the 48 lbs advantage, but that is gonna be basically unnoticeable in the real world. It might affect times like a thousandth or two, but that's about it.

Also, from what I heard elsewhere, Motortrend adjusts for Atmospheric conditions... temperature, humidity etc.

I believe it was just for the speed.
So if the car was run at sea level with that
trap speed, a 14.3-14.4 ET should be attainable.

Some magazines could rig a test by testing a car during an extremely hot day, thus killing the acceleration times of a vehicle....

I find it impossible for the TLS to be faster. it would be beleiveable if the diff was 6.6 to 6.4 or something, but claiming 6.2, BS!!!! that is toooooo big of a diff w/ the same engine in a heaveir car. I always thought my car was faster than 6.5 due to some of the races i got into when i was stock, i beat an S500, which is supposed to be 6.1. And that was the first day i got my car, so eat that motor trend!!!!!!!!!!

I think Motor Trend gives our cars the fastest time out of any mag or review that I have seen, MT gives us 6.4 from 0-60mph and other mags and reviews the lowest I have seen is 6.6.. but it does seem like they like the TL-S better than the CL-S.. 6.7 for the TL-P.. wow. =P

I would believe that the times are better because of the temp difference. When they tested the Cl-S, I believe it was in the middle of the summer. And with the TL-S, one would believe that those numbers were attained recently, which would mean cooler temps. Could also be that they have learn how to drive the car. I believe one of the rags have the CL-S as a long-term test car.

Yea Motor Trend has the CL-S as a test car.. they drove like only 3K in one year so how much did they like it?.. we discussed this thing in an earlier topic already.. but if the temps are controlled for then shouldn't the 0-60 mph times be normalized?

i think it would be really close since their weight are close and they use the same engine.
