Now I see that Car & Driver has updated their Website with much of the article here: Car & Driver report

There is more info posted now on how they reached their decision.

Surprisingly they say that there were ERRORS in the article.
At first I was worried about shooting off my mouth, but after looking at the new charts I see that the Valentine is actually represented BETTER then the print copy of the article.

I think my favorite part was in their review of the Passport where they said "Although it looks slim and trim, the Passport's 12.1 ounces make it the porkiest detector of the bunch." And people used to complain that the Valentine was too big...

Well, like everyone said in reply to the other post, each of these tests has to be taken with a grain of salt. But, at least this time, the results came out correct.

Um, i believe they said the 8500 came closer to the v1 than any other detector ever. Anyways, bragging about the v1 over and over again makes you look like a dumbass. It's a great detector but fuckin' A get over it. Zaino, v1, Zaino, v1, Zaino, v1, Zaino, v1, who fucking cares, make your car faster then you'll actually need the detector.

I disagree. When I was 16 my beater car was an 87 Escort and I could peg the speedometer which I think top at 85 but maybe 90. That was fun then but now that I think about it, DUMB

That might be true of some cops but not all. I do, however, practise low profile driving which includes how my car looks. No obvious frills to stay "below the radar". I do want to mod the car up a bit but I can rationalize not doing it because it does and has gotten me out of tickets.
