Mods added, ETs up?????????
Well,
I took my car to ATCO Friday to see if I could break my ET record from 2 years ago.
I figured it was a no brainer, considering I had a CAI and headers since the last time I ran.
Five runs, the best ET was 15.03??????????????
The temp was 46 and although I don't remember the temp from 2 years ago it was right around this time of year.
The only other variable that might have come into play was my full tank of gas. Bad move on my part, but I filled up the day before, forgetting that I had intended to hit the track.
I know the car is faster with headers, because I can literally feel it.
I can't tell what the CAI contributes over the stock intake, but it sounds real nice.
So assuming, 2 years ago the temp was, say 34 degrees, that makes Friday's temp 12 degrees warmer.
A full tank of gas added about 120 lbs.
Are these two things enough to have pushed the ET's into the 15s?
I was realistically expecting a 14.3 or 4 considering my stock time.
After getting responses, I may have to go back next week, just to see.

about 2 weeks ago, I ran a 14.544 with 01 CLs with just an intake. stock tires and temp was 50. I was on empty and i took my spare tire out.
seems you should have done better. it would be cool to run again next week with less gas, and pull your spare to compare.

14.3 would be impressive though.

the full tank probably added a half second to your time. post your 60' etc.
have you checked the actuator and your cai filter?
did you turn off vsa ?

Mattg,
If you say the tank added .5 then I'm happy. That would have brought me into the 14.5 zone with an empty tank.
My VSA was off. The actuator is fine and I visually checked the filter a few days before I went to the track. It looked good.
My best run was:
RT 0.842
60' 2.244
330 6.396
1/8 9.708
MPH 74.44
990 12.518
1/4 15.039
MPH 92.98

Do not worry, my best run to date was in 40 degree weather, sunny and windy... Gas Tank at E mark. it was 14.65 @ 95.85 MPH... I had only CAI and spark plugs... and 18" rims... I satrted at 14.9 and went to 14.6s in the same night.
The last run of the season, I added UR Pulleys and Headers and I was running a consitent 14.7s. I had 3/4 or more of Full gaz tank.. everything else is the same... and NIttos tires are geting bald.... 85% are done... so they are harder and can't hook up...
Was disapointed, sure... but I guess I know I need new tires... and Ah maybe I will get a Ultra ligh Weight rims.... 18x7.5 +45 or +48 and weigh some 18 lb or less.. See... Rota wheels are offering new now Ultra lights and cost only $167.5/each!!!

your 60ft time was excellent, so your not losing anything in the lower range. That will give you lower speed traps, but i wouldn't think that low.
I guess it could be the full tank of gas, but .5 for 120lbs of non-rotational weight is pretty optimistic.

it is weight that is sloshing around and such though. i'm thinking that makes it even more of a drag than non moving weight. i'm no scientist though
speaking from my experience, it makes a bunch of difference.

Try changing your spark-plugs... your traps indicate loss of hp... it doesn't really affect the 60' when launching on street tires. Also, check your fuel filter...
