Modifying Stock Air Box.............

Has anyone considered doing a modification to the stock airbox? From what i have seen on the competch airbox there is not much difference. Wouldn't we get the same gains by removing the resonator off the stock AB and make some more perforation in the lower portion of thestock airbox to allow more air into the box with the addition of the K&N filter? I did this on my 98 Jetta VR6 and I did get better responce and also deeper noise from the engine. I still dont wan to experiment on my CL-S.

Any opinions regarding this issue?

I did this as well on my 5.0 TBird with some dryer hose as ducting from under the car and it made a difference. I assumed that if it were that simple, someone would have done it to this car as well. I have no time to try these things anymore. Anyone?

Only a dyno would tell. Everything else is PURE speculation.

I've been tempted to modify a 200mm HKS Supra intake to fit the CL.

They worked well on my Supra & previous Maxima...who knows...

I think so... and if somebody would lend me a comptech ice-box and split the dyno costs.. I'll show so
