FORD = Fix Or Repair Daily

And you'd be driving the most common car on the road!!!

I dunno... I'm not a Mustang fan.

I wouldn't only because its your boss' car. What happens if you have an issue with the car? Other than that I tend to like the stangs, especially the cobras (I know, this is a only a GT, but good looking and quick nonetheless).

I wouldn't do it.

You should keep your personal connections with a superior at work to a bare minimum, or else it could create serious conflict down the road that may affect your employment.

On top of that, it's the bosses son's old car. You think this kid gave a fuck about this car? He was probably some brat who ran the shit out of it.

Don't buy it. It's just a mustang. JUNK.

Sure go ahead! Join that stereotypical toolbag crowd--Every stang owner I know is just a complete tool, but if your 16 yrs old, maybe it'll make you "cool"....whatever

--And they really do have high repair costs...Actually , not high, just frequent--

I wouldn't do it--just my .02

i think it's stupid to stereotype all mustang owners.

but i would pass on the vert stang.

w/ 38,000 miles it prolly rattles worse than a cl-s :o

F O R D = FOUND ON ROAD DEAD
Seriously, no. First of all, you know the kid beat it to shit.
Yeah, buy it if it has an extended warranty that can be transferred to you. Make sure there is also a clause about free rental cars as well...because you'll need it.

For $16K, it's a little pricy. Not just the price on the car, it's cost of ownership.

$700 extra insurance per year + $$ extra on gas + unpredictable breakdown and repair (Although it may cover by warranty, but it's pain in the bud if you have visit Ford dealer every week)

So, it's up to you.

Ok, I owned a 2000 GT 5 speed and here's what I thought of it:

Stuff I Loved:
1) I loved the handling. You could take a right angle corner doing 30 MPH, and she handled on rails.
2) Loved the exterior look.
3) Fast off the line, with awesome acceleration.
4) Traction control kicked ass.

Ok, now the stuff I hated:
1) Shitty seats. Just like sitting on 2x4's. We drove to Seattle, and it took a week for the feeling to come back to my ass.
2) Cheap interior. Flashing still around map pockets.
3) Squeaky blower motor (my friend's '95 GT had the same squeak, nice....)
4) Lack of low RPM torque mixed with a wide ratio tranny. If you drive it in the mountains, accept the fact that you're lugging the shit out of the engine in 5th, or you're revving the snot out of it in 4th.

And the stuff that just plain pissed me off:
The weekly trip to the dealer for warranty work:
1) Tranny replaced due to TSB that got 1st and Rev in at the same time. Makes a kick ass grinding noise!
2) Clutch assembly replaced due to release bearing piling up.
3) Random stalling when coasting to a light (no power steering, no ABS, no problem right?!?!?)
4) Weird thumping noise when downshifting.
5) Cooling fan not working.
6) Brake lights not working.
7) Back for tranny work when we traded it in (we never bagged or abused the car).

OK, some of the issues were acceptable. But 1-4 were DESIGN FLAWS!!!!!!!!

Oh yeh, the things I kind of liked:
1) The fact that the service department knew me by name (as well as my address off the tops of their heads!)
2) I got more exercise walking from the dealership to work when owning that car that my old piece of shit I sold to buy this one!
3) Replacing that piece of shit with a '01 CL-S black, and flipping every Ford dealership the bird when I drove by....
