Why did you unplug the battery? You gain nothing doing that, and now you can't be 100% sure it was just an over-rev. If you're worried about the dealer finding out, you should have just done it right before you went. That would make far more sense.

Shit happens I guess. The only times that I've ended up hitting high revs accidentaly is shifting into 2nd (either from 1st or down from 3rd) and releasing the shifter before it goes in, so it ends up in neutral (or sometimes releasing the clutch too early and grinding)

Thanks for all the replys. I've driven 150 miles since I reset it and the light hasn't come back on. I guess I got lucky this time.

I dont think they really make them for our car, i was kinda kidding. we use those in motorcycle racing so you can downsift hard without slowing down too much. it would help in a mis downshift too tho. and I have a few R/C cars too. an old RC10 team car with the steath trans, and right now a few HPI nitro RS4s
