I was away at business and parked my car on the street in front of my house (I spent an hour finding the perfect spot bcz I was going away for 2 weeks). I came back today to find a lot of scratches and dent on my hood (like a tall truck backed into it but only scratched the surface ...strange but thats the best explanation I have, unless its a new mystery like the crop circles...hehe bad joke but you can't blame me if I lost my usually reliable sense of humor).

Now I have no clue who/what did this, I guess with my $250 deductible it will make sense to claim insurance, but will that raise my rate? also my car is a 99 CL and red in color and I'm sure it will need a damn good paint job to blend in with the rest of the car. Or shld I key my whole car and get the whole thing repainted?
In any case my cars resale value is screwed and I was thinking of selling it in 6 months, but my otherwise perfect car is ruined forever.....:-(

if you car is a everyday ride and you don't plan on building on it who cares... else if you have a pimping ride that is fixed up... i would myself key it up and give it a unique paint just my 2 cents

I just had an idea reading another similar post, I can probably replace the whole hood, that way it won't be a repainted hood and hopefully the color would blend in as well, bcz my factory paint tho 3 yrs old still looks brand new. What say? how do I make sure they replace the hood, puncture it with a drill? or put more dents on it myself?

Oh do I have to report this to the local police coz its probably vandalism?

there are a few ppl i know that done the key and claim for new paint job.... if you havn't report that your car was keyed and stuff... to put the nail in teh coffin.. f*ck it up more to make sure.... muahahha
