Me vs. 2 modded 99-04 GT's vs. SC'd VR6 Golf IV

1st race: A 99-04 Mustang GT with intake/exhaust, pullies and a chip. We line up, and go from a dig. He pulls ahead in 1st gear due to traction and my front bumper is now at his rear bumper. I slam 2nd but try not to spin too much and nothing changes. Same for 3rd and beginning of 4th. At the 1/4 mile mark, the outcome remained the same. My front bumper was still at his rear bumper.

2nd race: Another 99-04 Mustang GT, this one with intake/exhaust, 3.73 gears and perhaps other mods. The guy runs 13.5 @ 103mph at the track with Falken Azenis tires. We did a highway roll-on from 60-120mph. I was afraid because 60mph was too high for 2nd gear, and kind of low for a 3rd gear roll-on. Anyways, we both punch it on the third honk. Side by side. Shift 4th. He gains 1 inch on me and I gain it right back. Still side by side. Shift 5th. Still side by side. We were neck 'n neck the whole time / no one pulled. We can't figure out why... he traps 103 and I trap 97. Hmm.

3rd race: A 4th gen VR6 Golf w/ a supercharger and I don't know what else. He runs 13.8 @ 102mph at the track. We line up and go from a dig. I get a bad launch in first, and smoke right through it. Shift 2nd, he's starting to get ahead, so I get throttle happy and nail the gas. Spin through most of 2nd. By now he's got a car on me. His lead doubled by the 1/4 mile mark, leaving me very embarassed. Given my shitty launch and spin-out, I probably ran a 15.0 second pass lol.

To sum it up, two losses and 1 tie. But I prefer that over beating cars that have absolutely no chance. I like a good challenge.

Was a fun night out, the weather was VERY cold... I'm talking like low 50's.

for the second GT run it's definitely his RWD that made the difference. It's fot a higher drivetrain loss than you'r FWD, and since the RWD is perfecft for launching that's why he traps so much higher/faster. Because his rwd launch is the same as giving a FWD car a rolling start at the beggingin fo the 1/4.

I guarantee that if you had a 15mph rolling start on teh 1/4 you would match or beat that trap speed/time.

btw. good kill/deaths
