MDXs are still on back order. . .

I thought by now they would have caught up. I went ahead and put a deposit on a 2003 Touring with Navigation. As early as I did this, there were already a couple others on the list. They don't expect any 2003s until Sept/Oct. I held out for the 2003 hoping the rumors of the 3.8L are true.

What I don't understand is even though MDXs are back ordered they started the Honda Pilot on the same line as the MDX. You'd think they'd get their shit together before further backlogging the line. Oh well. Can't wait for the fall. . .

Its smart business on Honda's part.

With a soggy economy, why produce a million MDX's and saturate the market to only have them lose popularity within 2 years. This way, they are keeping demand blisteringly high.

When i went to richmind to test drive a CLS, a customer was in the showroom PISSED becuase he drove 3 hours on the impression the dealer had one to sell when in reality he just had a demo. Made a huge scene in the showroom. Crown Acura in Richmond sure didnt seem to have their act together though. Were REALLY willing to cut deals on an 03 cls for anyoen whose got the cash though. Wanted to sell me a 6 spd non navi for like 28k and change.

Acura May Sales Set All-Time Record

utexas is right. Honda/Acura produces less the first year or so of certain new cars so there will be more demand. From personal experiences, I tried to buy my TL a month or so after introduction and had to wait 3.5 months. It was a pain! My best friend had a similar experience with the Odyssey (2 gen). Everybody wanted those fold down seats!!!
