MDX Issues
I was at my uncles house last weekend and he has a 2002 MDX. Not bad, until he told me about the problems he's having with the cheap interior. The rear view mirror just hangs from the windshield, no way other than taping it to the glass to fix that....The rear passenger windows don't do down anymore using the driver controls, and the molding around the doors on the left interior and coming off... When I asked what the hell was going on, my uncle told me that there is water leaking into the car. Talk about our rattle problems, I wouldn't want an MDX if thats the quality we're being offered.

i'll tell you what all the problems are, all the lil squeaks in the CL/TL, all the complaints about the trannies, and now the cheap MDX interior? i bet the RSX is next. wanna know why nobody complains about the RL or NSX? it's simple. those models are still made in JAPAN!!! the CL TL RSX and MDX are all assembled in the US. i'm not trying to offend anyone or anything, but it can definitely be said that the build quality here in the US especially in cars are way behind the japanese and import markets. my mom has a 94 legend (built in japan) and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it, the quality n all the materials look/sound/feel like it's still brand new. therein lies the problem fellas.

Watch out if you think you can get into a Pilot as a "cheap" alternative to the MDX.
Dealers in the Washington, DC, area are marking them up over $3,500. The EX-L comes in at $35K. The base MDX is 35 and touring non-nav is $37.
Also, the Pilot has a tranny shifter on the steering column whereas the MDX's is on the console (like most Honda's). The Pilot interior is spartan compared to the MDX, too.
Also, in current Pilot models there is no sunroof being offered.
You may have to wait for an MDX but compared to the competition and the miniscule price difference from the Pilot you get a huge bang for the buck with an MDX.
As far as the issues the original poster mentioned. The car is under warranty---take it to the dealer and get it fixed.
