MD OWNERS! Track Day this Sunday??

I just checked Capitol Raceway's website and due to the awesome weather we are expecting this weekend they will be opening a week or two earlier than expected. This Sunday, the 29th, they will open for Test & Tune.

Anybody trying to go for a few runs?

Hmmm... Curious.. yes yes. I wouldn't mind making a run or two. Keep in mind that anything under a 14 second run and they make you wear a helmet.

I'm def gonna be there tomorrow and make a few runs. I'll be there right at Noon when they start to get the most runs in before it gets crowded. It's $20 to race.

Unless Figdj shows up I don't think we'll see any CL's running under 14... at least no one I know from this forum in the area.

Had a choice of running the car or taking my boy to the Smithsonian... Got some good T-Rex pics!! Oh well, maybe another day. I don't think my car's running that well anyway.

met up with steve at the track on sunday...

my best turned out to be a

r/t 1.093
60' 2.268
330 6.271
1/8 9.549
mph 75.58
1000 12.326
1/4 14.679

i am all stock and couldn't keep traction to save my life... wheel hopped on most of my runs then spun like crazy, guess i need new rubber, i lowered the tire pressure down to 26 then 25 then 23 and still spun...

steve on the other hand was mr. consistent pulled nice 14.6's most of the day and got a vid thanks to derelict of our last run

i can't find this slip for some reason but i think steve ran a 14.6 ? and i ran a 14.8 or 9

Damn I wish I had gotten a chance to take a few runs. Curious which would have won out... my headers or steve's Conti's. Traction seems so key though... so I'd be betting on the tires.

It's sweet seeing the video. We need to get more though next time. I could steal my parents video camera for a day.

I'm planning on making a trip to the track about every 6 weeks. Hopefully next time with headers and then the Uni-Chip.

Get the Conti's man I love 'em. They are slightly louder on the road than the stockers but I paid $86 each for my tires vs. $230 each for the Michelins. You've seen how much better they grip too.

The video is cool but we need a better zoom and it sucks that some civic decided to burnout right after we left. Sounds like our cars making all those fart nosies. HAHA. Next time I'll be prepared.
