MD-50 and 495
Coming back from the movies last night, I headed on MD-50E towards Washington. I'm cruising @ about 70mph and see about 3 cars coming up in my rearview. As they past me, I see a grey late-model Eclipse GT past on my left.
I switch to SS as expected...pull it back to 3rd, switch lanes and get on the rpms. He's a good 15 car lengths ahead, but I eat that up quickly. We're side by side @ about 90mph. I gun it in the far left lane as we aproach 495-North. By this point, I'm @ 120mph making every other car a blur. I gradually get on the brakes so I can make my exit onto the beltway. He's about 3 cars behind me as I get off the exit and follows me.
In the merge lane, there are already slower cars in front of me, so he cuts over as soon as we hit the merge. That's cool. I let him have that move. So we're gunning it off and on up the 495/95 split. He's about 5-6 car lengths in front. As we get to the split, he gets into the I-95 N lanes while I stay in the 495-N lanes. I was completely stock except for the CT Axle Backs. I've had the icebox for almost a week. I'm selling it now. I'm getting a AEM CAI. But, I can really feel the difference now. I can't imagine how much my life would change w/ headers!
