M3 vs CLS...then a IS comes along
Hello everyone i'm a new 97 M3 owner and new to this board! Well on with the story:
I was driving one night to go pick up a friend when some Type-S starts pacing next to me. He had a big grin on his face and kept glancing towards me. We slowed down quite a bit and came to a stop at a light. As soon as it turned green we took off. The first three gears i was eating him up, but i messed up my shifting when changing to fourth. He was pullin and i'd say we were about even when we came to the next light. (note: this is my first manual transmission car, haven't even had it for a week). We turned down our music and gave the usual car talk, "Hey watcha got in there?!...TIGHT!" We were rudely interrupted by some dude in an IS300 who comes out of a parking lot and high beams and honks (who the hell honks!?)at the both of us. Once again, we gave each other a grin and took off at the light. I directly shifted from 2nd to fourth so the IS300 could pace with me. As soon as he was next to me i gunned it down to third and left him in his place. After about 1 1/2 car lengths he merges onto another street.=( I saw the Type-S driver laughing his ass off when it was time to go our separate ways. I flashed my hazards to salute as he did the same. Good god that was a great night.

CLS vs M3?! Can't us import owners all just get along?

Welcome to the Board,
Good to see M3 and CLS drivers get together, I have a coworker who is also driving a 97' M3 stick. He is drooling over my car all the time. I invited him to show up at the drag strip and he declined my offer. I never raced him.
Good race. I think a CLS with CAI and headers could do some serious competition to an 97 M3 stick. M3 Auto would be not be a tough fight for the CLS.

Ahahahaha Eclipse
I can't wait to race the guy who lives up the street with the puke-yellow IS300.
Of course, across the street from him is a guy with a red CL-S (who I haven't met yet) so I guess he feels put in his place. But now with my CL-S a few houses down he must really feel sorry.
