Lost keys
Hi, I lost my keys, I still have the second pair, but i still need to get them recut, does anyone know how much it will cost? I called the dealership and they said 45 bucks just for the key, why so much, also the guy said that all of my keys will need to be reprogramed, is this bull? Do i need to make them program the remote control or can i do that myself? Also how much do those cost (the 2002 new ones). Thanks, and sorry for the gramar.

the acura keys have the chip in them. without them programing your keys to match your car, you won't be able to start your car. pohanka acura charges $90 for both the keys and programing...the last time i asked them. the FOB or remote is different. you can do that yourself. price of the 2002 remote is btwn $40-$50.

It is true that the keys need to be programmed, but your dealer should be able to make a duplicate key from your remaining key with the key duplcator. This machine lets us make a duplicate key without having to program the computer and all the other keys. Since this is much easier and quicker, it should be considerably less expensive- I would check with another dealer. We program the remotes for free when you buy one- just make sure you have your old one with you as both have to be done at the same time
