I'm probably going to cut a hole in the back of this piece so the CAI gets extra air.

Take a look, that mounting screw is EXACTLY the same too.

There are NO electrical connections back there on either side.

My belief that Acura is offering optional lamps is fading.

Here is the other side…..Brake cooling ducts MY ASS !!!!

The only thing that gets any air over here would be the windshield washer fluid bottle.

It’s the BACK of this.
All the damn thing is, is a piece of molded plastic.

Sweet! Just cut the silly-looking back part off and you've got a pretty functional ram-air to your CAI!

That’s what I’m doing on the driver’s side if Acura doesn’t come through with REAL lights for us.

Yeah, would be nice if you could just cut out the back part, but keep the criss-cross lattice work...

o dude, that sucks!!!!! all this time, i thought it was a natural grill where air could pass through!!! o man, that really sucks...just like the Stangs...in that case, i stand corrected...the housings will work...u just gotta add the line and switch, which i dunno how possible it is...any dealership carries the housings, but the connectors that the wires go into may not b offered...Shawn, u should call your local place and see if service carries the connectors...assuming they do, u'll have to wire it up to a separate switch, just like on the TL's and have to find a way to splice the line into a power source like to the HID's...i think the Helms may have the wiring info.

even on the heels of bad news, there is a light at the end of the tunnel

Have your cake and eat it too???

One vote for cold air intake (that CAI intake is sitting right next to a pseudo-ram-air duct

What about just one small high-output projector with functional screen (as a do-it-yourself "fab" project)?

---??????----

(Just one lamp with "modified"/functioning ram-air grill????)

Shawn,

If you cut a hole in there to feed the CAI, won't that allow for water to Spray off the road right into you CAI filter, not to mention snow, slush, or any other liquid that might be sparyed off the road??? Just a thought... Not sure if you have the bypass or not....

What do you think??

Dom

EDIT: Oh yeah, Beautiful car by the way... wish that Blue was around when I bought mine. You're all about the Gold Packages!!
CONGRATS!!

If I do it, I’ll probably make some kind of baffle or screen to deflect the water/debris away from hitting the filter directly.

All I would want to do is get a larger supply of fresh air up into the cavity where the filter sits.

And YES, I have a bypass valve for my Xephyr CAI.
