iam thinking about making my own cl front lip since iam working at a body shop now id like to practice n sell at cost to az members looking to get front lips n to practice my skills at the shop if i did what are you guys ideas for our car post pics of others lips like wings west n such n even an oem look

 

This is my favorite kit for the CL its the 03 TL S a spec kit but I like all the 2 g TL kits

make the 99-01 tl factory kit (including sides and rear) a bolt on for the CL and you will be a millionaire

^ RJ kit is actually the worst, I think the pic I posted has a smaller front lip.

'03 TL lip kit is the best IMO.

 

im with him. 02-03 TL lip is pure sex, im not biased or anything...


but on a serious note: if you could mold the bottom half of the TL bumper (fog lights and lip kit) on to the CL bumper you'd be set.

 

 

lol you are so right. every cl owner would be buying it. the only reason that i like that acura didnt make a lip for the cl is that it just makes your cl stand out from every other cl out there to have one molded.

 

I wish they did make a kit, I never see cl's anyway. Only 1000 tls a day.

i highly doubt anyone will be able to make the TL kit bolt up and still look professional. i pondered for hours trying to figure it out but you would have to fabricate brackets to hold the lip in place. as for the side skirts that is a whole other story on its connection system. the tl brackets do not line up with the CL. you would need to relocate each of the rear brackets so that it would clip into place. i sat in my garage trying to come up with a way but ended up just overlaying them on to the stock cl skirts. my original plan was to do the kit and figure out how to make it so that anyone could easily bolt it on after i modded them. after molding 2 kits the easiest way i found is to just mold them onto stock parts and document the process for others to try. now if i could sell my one huge how-to book without it being copied hundreds of times......

don't mean to discourage you but good luck in tackling this project.

 

Either TL 99-01 lip or the 03 TL and make sure u PM me when u make em because i will be BUYING

 

id be very interesting to see if how this turns out.

When I drove cross country, I saw one 2G CL. I saw a lot of 1G's , but who wants to see those.

 

any one with a donor one let me know how much i might even get some molding foam

 

 

looks like a 03 tl bumper unless fog lights wher made to fit

 

this was a custom bumper mold, upper half cl, lower half tl. there are plenty other people who just mold the TL kits though. look above.

Agree. i wouldnt want it unless it was poly.

 

So basically get a tl front lip molded on and use the rj sideskirts and rear. I would have to mold the rear cause i dont like that line where it connects. Doing anything else or trying to make a kit is useless. Even if its the best kit ever made there arent enough ppl to buy it to even get your money back.

I'm in if you make one. I have a front lip thats not on my car yet, if you want to fit it and make a mold let me know.

 

If you can model the 99-01 lip for our cars out of polyurethane Id be in for a kit as well. The 02-03 lip doesnt flow IMO. That extra vent underneath the bumper vents doesnt look right.

 

polyurethane molds? good luck. that is why these cheap companies make fiberglass molds and lips. they do not have to be pressure injected and cost thousands just for startup.

 

yeah thats y iam making out of fiber glass unless rj whats to help us out so will also profit

 

if your making these front lips out of fiberglass its going to be a waste of time and money. the first pebble you hit its going to crack.
