Look what I found.....Need help.
So I currently own a 2002 BMW ///M3. This is the first time that I have owned a BMW and I must say they are amazing. With that said, I originally grew up driving acuras and I really miss their reliability and comfort as a daily driver. I found what appears to be one amazing 2003 Acura CL-S. The interior looks like a show car with plenty of tv screens and speakers galore. The engine is strapped with the comptech supercharger, headers, and just about everything else you can imagine. I checked the carfax and it is from California (now in Washington) with 6400 miles, and no, that is not a misprint. I test drove the car and everything seems fine. My question to you is, has anyone seen this car before and if so, has it been taken care of properly? I can only assume that someone with a car this heavily modified must be a member of an online forum. What should I look for when buying a used CL such as this one? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Guys. autotrader.com zip code 98372 2003 Acura 3.2 Cl Should be the first Acura under spotlight listings black in color.

I remember seeing that hideous steering wheel before, but not sure about the rest. Since it's at an auction, you might be able to get it for a decent price, but be VERY cautious. Since you test drove it, I'm sure you got a decent look at it. I'd still double check all the body panels, make sure the paint matches, and take a very close look at everything that has been added to the car. I can't vouch for the guy, nor can I tell if he took care of it, but I'm pretty sure the previous owner is not a member on here. He may have been on cardomain though. Definitely keep us updated (also with the asking price) and please take that crap off the steering wheel if you buy it.
Good luck with the M3!

I searched cardomain.com and couldn't find the CL-S. I really hope someone can help me. How much should I offer them? With only 6400 miles, is there anything that should be replaced due to no useage for a long period of time? I looked at it again and the car wouldn't start so they replaced the extremely small battery under the supercharger and it started up fine. Any help would be much appreciated.

blow up some pics of that car/get more. ive been messing around with the idea of eventually changing the taillights as in using LEDs, theres a new m6 around me and those LEDs in the taillights are just badass, real small LEDs (not like the big ones in G35s) and almost have a fading effect. anyways whats the asking price? that would be the selling point for me. is there any bondo work done like shaved door handles? if so id be weary, ive had shaved door handles before, after the first 6 months you kinda wish you had the handles back and its a PITA when your battery dies. your BMW is nasty though. i wish there was mesh wheels like that available for our cars, closest we can get from my knowgledge are the ADR m classics but still even that offset isnt exactly right in 20 inch

I've definitely seen that car before; i remember the hideous steering wheel, but i don't remember if the owner was on AZ.
It looks like it's well-modded though. If the carfax is clean and you like it, then i'd go for it

haha, ive seen that car on craigslist. It was posted in san bruno and the dealership kept on reposting b/c no one was interested. The carfax was clean, but somethings fishy about it, and the steering wheel is hurt! I dunno, but there must be a reason why no one got it.

I am going to keep the M3. I have put thousands into that car and it feels/handles like no other car I've personally driven. The CL-S would be my DD. The door handles are NOT shaved but the trunk is shaved. It is going up for auction at noon on 12-29-07. I will bring my camera and take more detailed pics. It did not sell last week through the auction so I am assuming that it will not sell this week. There was only 50 or so people at the last auction and the bidding wasn't even close to the reserve.
I drove the car again to see if I could feel any vibrations on the highway. The tank was on empty so the salesperson put $5 in the tank Before I could even get out of the gas station, the car died. I tried to start it but it would not stay running. It turned over and started but quickly died. Their on site mechanic met us and said it was the fuel pump. I got a ride back to my car and told them to call me when they fixed the problem.
I got them down to $16 grand which I think is a steal of a deal. I will definitely get the car looked at by a certified mechanic before I buy. Something does seem fishy if it hasn't sold in other states. Does the Acura dealership do pre-purchase inspections and if so, would they be able to work on comptech add-ons?
The CL-S has a completely different feel than my ///M3. The stiffer suspension on the Acura actually gives it a bumpier ride than my BMW. Other than that, I really can't compare the two. They were built for two different purposes with two very different retail values. I am not sure about the regular scheduled maintenance on the Acura but for the M3, it's $800 for inspection 1 (30K), and $1500 for inspection 2 (60k). $120 for oil changes, $100 for a new key....and the list goes on and on. It is crazy expensive for absolutely everything.
New Pictures of the Acura will be up this weekend. If I do decide to buy the car, I would need someone to drive the car. I am really curious to see which car is faster, my M3 or a really modified CL-S. If anyone on here lives close to Puyallup and would like to drive the CL-S or M3 while we race (if I buy it), email me @ ioneill@gonzaga.edu

Maybe try getting it a little lower. The fact that the car died during the test drive is pretty whack. Use that to your advantage if you really wanna get the car. And yah, if you can, upload bigger pics.

Blown is Best
This car was up for sale about 1 1/2 years ago from what I remember. The pictures are no longer on Autotrader but I think it's referred to as car #1 in this thread. I would be very cautious with this one since it hasn't been picked up in that length of time.

You may want to PM All Mine and see if he knows more about this car. I'm pretty sure he researched it.
It had 5700 miles balc in June 2006. Only 700 miles in 18 months?

Don't Mess With Texas
ahh yes, that steering interior has been burned into my memory from long ago. just buy it! it looks to be clean minus some easily changable interior pieces. i would get that mechanic of yours to give it a once over tho seeing as how it died on you on the test drive.

just looked at the pics again, and it seems kinda dirty/rusty under the chassis for having less than 10k on it. my buddy got a car from ohio with 16k on it and it looked WAY cleaner than that thing does underneath
maybe the miles are fake.

I will have a certified Acura mechanic look at it before I buy. The car started up fine at the auction on Saturday (12-29-07). They probably won't sell it for 15k but I will see. I really hope the miles are correct, that is the main reason why I am interested in the vehicle. The supercharger and video components are just an added bonus. I purchased a one month unlimited carfax report so if anyone needs a VIN looked up, give me the VIN and your email address and I will send you the results.

dont be mad
dear god, please tell me that you'll take off all that ricey shit if u do buy this car. I personally think that people have no clue about the CL's and they dont sell/resell very well at all. I kept on eye on the one i bought for almost 2 months and they dropped the price almost 2 grand since it wasnt selling. Better for the people who know about the car i guess, and i have no plans on selling it for a long long time so yea.....get it checked out, if all is good i say get it, BUT as a daily driver u might try looking for a car with less aftermarket mods

car is still for sale. They would not sell it to me for 15k. www.kingcountyauction.com. Look under catalog.

this car has been all over the internet...it's been in a few states. I honestly think the car was a rebuild because of such low miles. Someone could have swapped out the dash thus showing the low miles.

yeah, i think the body of the car is old, compare to my car with 55k miles and it looks a lot more cleaner and no rust at all (and i live in PA with harsh winters and lots of salts on the roads). So i think that its had different motor too, and plus the dashboard with the cluster, which shows different mileage. I know there is a way to check the true mileage on the motor if you can find the vin of the motor and give it to a dealer see if they can help you with that...

When I was looking for another CL I considered that one and I spoke to the people at the auction place that has it several times and they told me that the owner is looking for a certain price. According to the auction place its not a rebuild or salvage the owner is into modding vehicles and has many and the mileage is true. He is looking for $20k minimum and the auction place charges a 10% charge on top of the selling price. I think it will be sitting for quite awhile.

Give the VIN to acura and they should be able to tell you the engine block number. you can match this with the white sticker on the block on the timing belt cover to make sure that the engine is the original one and not swapped.
you can partially see the white sticker with the engine block number on it in the first picture of the engine.

20K, LMAO. If he is into modding cars and selling them, then he did not due his homework on this one. 20K, OMG to Funny! I can't imagine this car selling for more than 17K tops!

$20,000 for basically a brand new CL-S with lots of add-ons isn't a bad price. Of course it would be expensive to drive seeing as you'd have pay to get the vomit cleaned up every time you drove it ....

20K for the car another 2k for the auction place then you have to pay the taxes and registration to the state of Washington or whatever state you live in then add the additional money to fix the interior. Then on top of that since the car hasn't been driven for any long period of time it probably will have some issues so extra money for that. Like I said it will be sitting for awhile.
