local acura dealership THREW AWAY scratched cl-s rims

so i was talking to this TL owner who was interested in picking up some cl-s rims. he went to the local acura dealership here is the bay area to inquire, and somebody there told him that there were two SCRATCHED cl-s rims that they just THREW AWAY the day before! guess an owner came in, bought a couple new ones, and gave the scratched ones to the dealer. damn! is that sh*t real? would they just throw them out, considering the price it would take to "repair" the scratch? if thats the case...i wouldnt mind going down there and picking up a scratched cl-s rim for free or just a little $$$. its a lot better than rolling on the wussy-ass spare. can anyone verify if any dealerships do this? sorry so long...

Funny thing. I dropped my car off at the dealer yesterday to have warranty work done and some mechanics were in the back replacing rims on two Integra's and three CL-S's that had had their rims stolen over night. The cars were just sitting on little bricks with no wheels at all.

Wow... Ft. Worth Texas sounds like a dangerous place to live. I'm glad I live somewhere safe like NYC.

Actually, the dealer is located in Arlington, TX, between Dallas and Fort Worth. But, in no way should our humble "town" be confused with your enormous "city".

last time I looked I think I saw about 20 or so alloy wheels behind our shop waiting to go to the recyclers, most of them are bent scratched or otherwise mutilated. If we actually kept all of these in a year or two we would be drowning in used up rims.Jens

Hey, I'm originally from Ft Worth and was just there last weekend. On the news, there was a guy who shot and killed the person stealing his truck. In Texas, you can't steal a man's truck ....

Like the t-shirt says "Just execute 'em all and let God sort 'em out."

This is certainly true, but not just with trucks. You are legally able to kill someone that is stealing from you, trespassing on your property, breaking into your house, etc. I say "great, that's what you get for messin' with my stuff."

I lived in Texas for nearly 20 years and all my relatives still live there. You aren't legally able to kill anyone for nothing. You might be able to use [appropriate] lethal or deadly force for property theft, self-defense, and the like, but the law doesn't allow you to kill anyone. With the 100% death row/death penalty in Texas, I wouldn't even consider shooting anyone in that state for any reason. It's a proven fact that even when you think you are 100% right, in Texas you might just be wrong. Your life will be ruined if you kill someone and their family will probably sue you anyway, right or wrong.

Let the son-of-a-bitch drive away with the damn truck. Texans (including my family) think they are so unique and different that the rest of the country.
