Lexus IS 300vs. 3.2 CL Type S??? Who wins?????
I have this guy with this yellow LEXUS IS 300 '02 with a five speed manual, he wants to race with me....but I'm too scared to race him cuz he's got a five speed manual. and even on that if I lose....I don't want to ruin the Acura CL TYPE S reputation... I just puchased Comptech headers and Exhaust and also a AEM CAI cold air intake.....Jet V-FORCE module too..... what should I do guys???

I'd say lower your car and put on aftermarket struct and sway bars... our stock car will definitely lose to IS300 on curvy roads... however, on 0-60 on straight road, our CLS will be the king even against manual IS300... with better handling mods, you might be able to take on the curvy roads.

Lose on the curvy roads? Well actually that depends on how you drive.
Me and this IS300 was racing on a straight freeway up to 100+mph and it was pretty much even until their was traffic in front of me and I had to get behind. We both exited at the same exit which there was an S-turn leading onto a 90 degree right onto a public road which I accelerated and passed it at about 90mph on the outside lane in the S-turn. After that it didn't even both to race at stop lights lol.
My tires didnt even screech, but I've done that turn hundreds of times, its on the way home so I guess I knew the attack point very well.

Leave the curvy roads to the AutoX cone-munchers. "Wanna Race?" means straight line. Be it at the track or down Main Street.
My $ is on the CLS, unless like Nashua said you are scared. In that case, get someone with some sack and get it on!

put ur 17s back on, and if ur mods are already in, u should be able to take the is300, even a manual. be careful tho, is300s have really good pick up past 70mph and higher i heard, so better to start at 0. and dont race him past 112mph! we hit a wall in 4th </STRONG>

No doubt about their pick-up past 70!!!!! Not that I have an extremely fast car or anything, but I have a 2001 Nissan Sentra SE 5spd(good for a 7.7 0-60 and 15.8 1/4 mile) and I raced an automatic IS300 a while back. I was pretty close starting off but at around 60-70, he crawled all up on my a$$ and passed me!!!!! If im not mistaken, they are good for a 7.4 0-60 and a low to mid 15 second 1/4 mile???? Seemed like they do better than that or maybe it's just the gearing past 60 mph???</STRONG>

if he's being big-headed, put $2k on it and race him to 100 and don't be scared, unless he's installed a 100-shot nitrous system overnight

Be cool HunnyBunny!
I used to carpool every other day with a friend of mine who has a yellow IS-300 Automatic. (great looking car!). My 100% STOCK 2001 CL-S was SO much faster than his IS! We even raced on the highway one day and it was close at higher speeds, but when we got to the toll booths, I waited for him to match my position in his lane and counted down with my fingers 3...2...1. 0-90...I smoked him, then let him catch up. It's really hard for me to imagine that a 5-speed would improve your Racer X's situation by much.
If you do have all those mods installed there's no question. You're probably getting pulled by almost 100 more horses!
Regardless of whether you're still stock or modded out, just make sure you're in Manual shift mode and wind every gear out to at least 7000 rpm. There is no chance he will beat you.
Above all, have fun, and keep it casual. But be safe!!
