Originally mine had black lettering that started to flake after about a year.
So I repainted it with about 10 coats of white enamel that has already outlasted the original paint without any flaking.

I got the chrome type s one, and had the letters flake off. I just finished fixing it. First i attached the shift plate off of the 6 speed to the top. The piece with the shift pattern on it. I had an extra sincer acura had to rplace the trim from chipping. I then painted the type letters in silver and the s in anthracite. It looks so nice now. Ill try to get a pic up.

so i wanted the chrome one from the dealer that has the type s in red, but u guys seem to be having a flaking problem. so which ones dont flake? 40 bucks seems alot if it wont even last me a year.
