Let's review the auto lights on feature again (?)
Since we changed to standard time, I have been leaving my lights on when I exit the car in the morning at work. The last few nights when I go back to the car after work and hit the unlock button on the remote, the interior lights come on but not the headlights. Then when I open the door the headlights come on. This does not seem right. I thought they would come on after I hit the remote unlock. Is there a timeout that disables this headlight one feature after "x" hours? Beats me. Help.

How long of a time frame are we talking, that is pretty weird though.
I left mine on the other night at about 9pm got home, left the house 7am the next morning and it worked. That's 10 hours.

no there is no time out period, although when you first unlock your car it should have came on if you left your lights on when you locked the car but the light automatically go back off after like 10 seconds or so, then when you open your door it should come back on. Test it again.

Mine works fine
Hello,
I have been leaving my lights on all the time. I guess the longest that I leave it on is like 4-5 PM till 6-7 AM in the morning so that is more than 12 hrs..
I will make sure to leave it on next time I go to vacation..

Let's see if I can help (since some people seem to think you can't get any quality help on these boards lately).
Sounds like something is broken, man.

weird, sometimes it comes on with the door thing for me too, other times the unlock will work, i think it was to do with you either locking the car manually or leaving it to lock itself.

dude...
it sounds like your not LOCKING your car in the morning.
if you dont like your car... when you press the unlock button later... the signals flash and dome light comes on but the headlights stay off.
the headlights only come back on if you had locked your car before pressing unlock.
so... either your not locking your car... or someone is fucking with you and breaking into it everyday

Ok- check page 66 of the owners manual. The lights will go off after 15 seconds if you leave the switch on, get out of the car and close the door. They will then come on again when you unlock the door- either by remote or with the key. If you leave the lights on, take the key out of the ign, but stay in the car,- the lights will stay on for 10 min.
So... your lights should have come on when you pressed unlock on the remote- regardless of weather you actually locked the car when you got out. I tried it on 2 cars and they both work that way!
I hope this is a "good answer"

this has happened to me too.
when i get out of the car and leave the headlights on and close the door and press the 'lock' on the keyfob, the lights go out after a couple seconds as thye are supposed to.
if i hit the 'unlock', the lights will go on again. if i hit 'lock' again, it'll go off again after a couple seconds. (this is right after the lights turned off automatically the first time after i just got out of the car).
but if i go back after an hour or so and hit 'unlock' the lights don't go on until i open the door.
i'm not sure if it has something to do with the time the alarm arms or not, but this HAS happened as i described several times already.
