Lemons

Hey guys, well I have joined the group on third tranny. Back on 10/1 I suspected that my second tranny was going dead. I had it towed to Sterling McCall Acura here in Houston. The service manager confirmed my fears after a test drive. I was curious if any of my fellow Texans have tried to envoke the LEMON LAW. I was reading up on the laws. It states:

The defect or nonconformity creates a serious safety hazard and has caused the vehicle to have been subject to repair two or more times by the manufacturer or authorized agent or franchised dealer, and at least one attempt to repair the nonconformity was made in the period of 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever occurs first, and at least one other attempt made in the period of 12 months or 12,000 miles after the first repair attempt, whichever occurs first, but the nonconformity continues to exist; or

I took delivery on 9/27/01, tranny went out on 8/18 and the 2nd tranny went out 10/1/03

Do yall think that I have a shot at envoking to LEMON LAW

huh?

Do you mean that both repairs have to be made in the same year? The quote I posted is directly from the section in the law. It clearly states that the first repair had to be within 12 months or 12000 miles from when I bought the car. The second repair had to be done 12months or 12000 miles from the first repair.

I dont think lemon applies to you anymore, because u had the car more than 2 years now, and unucky you, the second tranny wen out just days aftet the 2 year mark. Acura will stick to that and they would not buy your car back. My sisiste has been trhough this. A major pain (took 1/2 year).

It depends which state you live in. cali has a lemon law where if they can't repair the smae issue after three attempts the car can be lemoned.
