Leather Repair?

Does anyone have any ideas regarding leather repairs? I have a very small cut in the passenger seat's seating surface that I'd like to repair. I'm kind of a DIY'er and am wondering if anyone has used anythig they can recomend. I would rather keep it the way it is before taking to someone else to fix... unless of course it's cost effective. Any ideas?

They make a leather / vinyl repair kit. PEP Boys carries it. Do a Google search for leather repair. I have used one of these kits, and they do a descent job.

First, they are not leather, it's pleather. Plastic. Second, the entire seat cover must be replaced. Pep Boys does have a repair kit, others do too. It may be better just to PM njzprettyboy and let him hook you up.

I think the actual preforated seating surface is genuine leather. That's the part that has the small cut.

Have you talked to them about it?? Did they give you a hard time about it?

yeah i talked to them about it and apparently this problem is common. because they were quick to explain the process of them changing the leather. they told me to bring the car in and examine it. I was so ready 4 them to say the pealing was from wear n tear but they replaced it without a problem. Ive been told that they will replace it at other dealerships if they can prove that it wasnt from wear but to be honest no leather should wear out and start to f%&^ up after a few years.

I think I'll give'em a call. The driver's seat is starting to do the peeling thing on one of the edges. Maybe I can get them to replace both sides...?

thats exactly where mine started peeling! it would make since to have them replace both. if they refuse than have the one thats peeling replaced than go to Pepboys or Autozone and pickup one of those kits. they also have repair kits in the acura service store.

I'm afraid if they replace one, then due to fading the colors may match. Then again, that sounds like acura's problem... what do you think?

it is, i mean truthfully its a desent amount of money we all spent on buying the car and though i love the car i dont think things like that should be happening this early. Let acura deal with it. And if u already dont have it u should buy some Lexol Leather cleaner and conditioner to help the fading in the leather.
