leased cl-s already over mileage?
Hi,
I have a leased cl-s and I am already over the mileage by about 2,000 miles. I have about 9 months left on the lease. I plan on not driving the car. I wanted to know if I still have to pay for insurance while I'm leasing the car even though I am not going to drive it anymore. Also, I have scuffs on my rims from scratching against the curbs. Does anyone know if I am going to be charged for the scuffs on my rims? I would think that it would go under normal tear and wear. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

Well - I went 17k miles over w/ my sebring at .10 / mile I owed and still owe a majority of the 1750 dollars )0=
I didnt get charged for rim scuffs or small rock chips--anything that fits under the size of a credit card ( w/ regard to exterior cosmetics) is usually not charged

Most lease agreements include a clause requiring insurance coverage to be in effect for the entire duration of the lease. (It varies state to state, but in NJ there are specified minimum liability and deductible limits; it also requires the policy to list the leasing company as an additional insured and loss payee.)
Should you fail to maintain insurance on the vehicle, the leasing company has the right to secure it's own coverage and bill you for it. (Also depending on the state, there can be other consequences to having an uninsured registered vehicle: fines, fees, license suspension, etc.)
Considering the number of A-CL members in the 'scratched rim club,' I would consider scuffs normal wear and tear.
I'd say the best place to look for details is the original lease agreement.
