Lease and 6-Speed CL-S
I am leasing a 2001 CL-S, I got a ridiclous price when I bought it and it's pretty much loaded (24,499). Spoiler, wheel locks, trailer hitch and mud flaps. I know some of those aren't standard. Other than some random act of god, what would it take to move me out of this lease and into and 2003 6-Speed Lease? If anyone has any ideas PLEASE HELP me. I've tried praying to god on this one but even he can't fight honda finance. If you lease, you know what I mean.

mdaniel is right on the money, I have a 01 on a lease (about a year and 4 months left) and I'm in the $4k negative area.
I have dumped out of several leases with losing minimal dollars....but the CL doesn't have such a great resale value. Leases in general aren't designed so people can just dump out of them at will, its a contract. But if a car has a good residual value and dealers are willing to offer descent money for the vehicle, getting out isn't always so difficult.
So, along with the above....used cars have been taking a beating in the last 6-8 months, because the interest rates on new cars are reasonable where used rates aren't that great.
With Acura dealers having a tough time selling the CL's they have.....they certainly aren't frothing at the mouth for more.

Beltfed is right....depends on what your buyback is.... if you put down some good money when you first leased your CL-S, you r buyback will most likely be lower and the dealer can buy out your car and lease you a 6-spd.
The other thing is that bacsue the 6spd is consider "a new release" by Acura, you will find that the buyback on them will be higher, therefore it would be cheaper to lease a 03' than a 02'.

I put a total of 5,000 dollars down when I bought the car and the cost was 24,995. Let me know what you guys are thinking I don't feel like being raped by the dealer even though it's inevitable. Thanks
