Killed by a GTI
Damn.
I got killed by my cousins stock 2002 GTI VR6 6spd.
I got a TL-S.
It probably would of been a dead heat but I got a sh!tty launch.
He jumped on me by 1-2 car lengths at the launch, but then tires grabbed and kept that distance from growing.
I gotta get myself a rematch to prove myself though, b/c now he's thinkin he can smoke me anyday of the week.

GTIs....I love them...used to have one, miss it a little, but then I think of the chicks I take home in my CL-S....

Hmm... I know the 1.8T's with a chip can pull high 13's, low 14's...but a VR6 should NOT be that fast, man.
What's your TL-S 1/4 in? Like a 15.5, right? The VR6 should be a high 15

Guys, he's got the new VR6(200hp)
I did some research today, and in terms of power to weight they are the same as our cars. Difference is that his car has a 6sp, I've got the auto. I agree that the two cars are pretty even in terms of acceleration. The main reason he got me was b/c of my crappy launch. Even his GTI has wider tires than our cars do. (225s stock)

I beat a VR6 to 90 mph by about 2 car lengths. And all I have is a CAI.
And I had to play catchup because I wasn't thinking he wanted to go, and he got the jump off the line.

The older GTi VR6, 5 spds are slow and most of the drivers cant drive, the new 2002 VR6 200hp, six speed are very gast, as fast an a auto CL/TL-S, but its a drivers race, about 97% of any VR6 anyone wil race would be an older (174hp) one. The 1.8T got up to 180hp stick in 2001 i think, and the VR6 didnt get to 200 hp until 2002. So NOW the VR6 is faster, but the 1.8T is cheqper, more easily mooded, and a better valve ( than the vr6)
Id take a 03 CLS-6spd. but at 10k more..oh well...

Funny you mention that, my cousin took his stock to the track 2 weeks ago. His best run was a 15.2xx. That sounds like good competition to a stock TLS/CLS to me.

What made me laugh was when I smoked a modded CL-S with my auto!!! Kinda funny actually. My car cost like 10K less then yours, and with 1.5K worth of mods, mines faster....
Oh, and my best friend has an 02 CL-S. He has yet to beat me. Either from a stop or a roll....

And not respecting something running 12s, your an idiot, a 12sec car is faster than any CL/CLS/TL/TLS I've heard of. so you might want to pull your head out, mabye buy ractive muffler to go with you obx header and dark tint.
