Killed a $55,000 Lexus LS 430
Over the weekend a couple of buddies of mine were driving home from a bar. I had 5 people in my car (one on the rear seat armrest) because no one wanted to drive so I volunteered.
As we were coming home, I saw a pair of really bright HIDs in my rear view mirror swerving in and out of cars. As he got near, I decided to drop from 4th to 2nd gear and punched the accelator.
The other car already had a decent amount of momentum going, but as soon as I got into 2nd, we were off. I kept up with him nose to nose until the next light. I pulled along side him to see that it was a Lexus LS430. My friend said there was a "gangsta rapper" driving by himself.
Although not really a kill, I, along with my friends, were thoroughly impressed that we kept up even with 5 ppl in the car. At first they teased me about getting a "grandpa" car...now they have new respect for the CL-S.

Nice sorta kill! But are sure dude was racing you? My father has one, and unless you have mods that v8 monster will give you a run for your money especially with five people in your cls. If the guy flipped on the sport and the ECT power button, you will have no chance at highway speeds. Off the line the car can't beat a cls 0-60 (unless driven by me!)

Do u feel better u mentiond the fact the car was 55k or that a "gansta rapper" was driving.
Unfortunatley, the LS 430 driver probably did not even notice you (therefore no race).
You slammed it from 4th to 2nd gear? With 5 PEOPLE!??! That is nuts.

I believe your story, but I don't believe that the driver of the LS430 was even remoted getting on it.
A stock CL with 5 people in it, will NOT keep up with an LS430, period.

yeah...who knows if he was trying or not. But it felt good to have my friends pay more respect to the CL-S after being heckled about driving an ol' man's car when I first bought it.
