KENSTEELE - Need Help w/Wireless

Here are a few exerpts of the conversation I am havin across the forumn looking for a wireless internet soloution to my laptop or handheld... any ideas ?

Also Im looking for a wireless way to stay online as I am spending less and less time in front of the computer and more and more under the hood. Anyone with a good suggestion (Not Palm VII) please send me an email I am currently looking into Go.America Aircard for my laptop or something for a Compaq iPaq/HP Journada I need 100% wireless access to the entire net , not to a handful of clipped sites the way Palm does.

Fotis: I looked into Ricochet but they dont have service in South Jersey 112K would be sweet to a notebook/PDA ... but no dice
Soopa: I personally think the iPaq is much faster and has a better screen then the Journada... but i have NEVER had a good experience with Compaq equipment...ever.... All bad...no good...always break...never work... get the picture? LOL

Anyone else have a better idea? Wireless modem for my laptop maybe?

Chris

The SPCS solution currently is with the iPaq (not the HP Jornada 5xx) using the AirCard 510. Wherever there is SPCS digital service, you have access to the entire Internet. Speeds are relatively slow 14.4 but that will be changing soon.

As you know the PIE is a full HTML browser and the Wireless Web Modem kit contains everything you need to surf the Internet. You may not want to stay connected "forever" because you'll be charged by the minute.

SPCS provides you with an ISP or you can use your own dialup. It's very easy, I use it all the time and I am pleased with the access. Many of my posts here are using the iPaq/AirCard.

I'm sure there are several other methods but I find this solutions to be the best overall. See my sig for Road Warrior pictures and go here for more details:
