Hey everyone,
Just picked up my new (well almost new) 2003 Black CLS 6MT with Navi. I think I got a pretty good deal as the car only had 162 miles on it and they threw in the 7year/100,000 for free. Total was under 28K which was the ballpark I was aiming for, I probably should have posted earlier to ask if this was alright, but I love the car so much i really didn't care.
The only thing that the dealer wouldn't throw in which I thought they should have, was the updated Nav DVD. I think mine is version 2.05? I know the 2.11C is out, has anyone ugraded and/or do you think its worth the money?

So on to the mods...I've ordered AEM CAI just like 90% of everyone out there. I've searched on here and found some instructions, just wondering if anyone else had a list of any "gotchas" that I should look out for as I'll be doing the install myself, from what I've seen it seems pretty straight fwd.

As far as audio, I def not impressed with the bose package, theres like zero bass. I like the single W7 idea but possibly looking for a custom box with 2 10's that will still leave me room. Should I change out the headunit? Can you add an additional amp and leave the bose speakers?

Thanks for the future imput, I'll get some pics and update as the mods get installed.

Lucky bastard, I wish I could get my hands on a 6MT with low miles. But I already have too many mods on this car. Might just keep it in the garage and get into an 05 RL. Your gonna love this car, especially with the manual. good luck and drive safe.

Congrats and welcome to the forum...

I guess there are still some low mileage 6spd out there. They didn't make many of them, so some colors are hard to find on the market.

I wasn't really looking to gain performance, that would be a plus, I am going for a better sound, and from searching on here AEM won the vote.

Yeah if you want that VTEC scream, then the AEM was a wise choice.

Sounds mean at wide open throttle.

Headers are a must

You'll love the ponies, and the razzle in the exhaust at idle.

obx = cheap
alphawerks = cheap / maybe better quality than the obx
comptech = bling

All yield good sound and performance gains.

Don't know about the Type S - but on my CL-P Springs and struts were a must as well. The cadillac ride is nice and all, but I want a sporty suspension so I can show off power in the corners

As far as your audio, you can add an extra amp and leave the bose speakers. I know if you change the headunit then you are going to have to run an amp bypass in order to run the speaker off the new headunit. its not that difficult (from what i am told). all you have to do is unplug the speakers from the stock amps and connect them directly. As far as the '01 CL-S. i'm not sure about the other years. if you get a custom box for your w7 it shouldnt take up that much room. Im gonna get a single w7 after i replenish my funds from the AVIC-N1 install.

You got a good one, did you get the ebony or parchment interior? My guess it is parchment? They've probably had the car for quite a while, I assume it was a dealer?
You should try to get the upgrade DVD free! I'll have to check what version I have.
What's your prod #?, (last 4-5 difits of the vin#). between 00001 and 16000. Mine is 10xxx. I agree with the audio comments, no bass.
congrats.
