Just got a MDX !

My girl friend bought it just tonight ! it's awesome ! She got the Silver Touring w/Navi for 43500 with Running Boards and Rear Spoiler Deflecter. which I think it's a pretty good deal !

anyways, the dealers gave us 13% APR for the financing. We're gonna look for other banks who are willing to go a little lower. any suggestions ? and the dealer is holding onto our contract right now coz the sale is not complete since they don't have the car yet.

any comments on what to do ?

BTW, for our next car meet. I'm gonna ask my girl friend to join us I hope it's alright with y'all.

2001 Acura CL Type-S. Blk/Blk w/Navi, Spoiler, PIAA Platinum Series Super White High Beams, PIAA 19169 Platinum Super White Wedge Bulbs, 20% / 5% tints.

So far four door dings, two on each side, DVD navigation system unit replaced, both driver and passenger side seat back fell off, and replaced both wipers and wind shield.

13%!!!????? WTF? Should be around 8 or 9%! Unless her credit rating isn't stellar, they are really burnin' you. Congrats on the MDX-nice ride.

Man thats whack....Does she have bad credit? You can make the dealer shop a better rate for you. When I bought my TL, I beat them up on price and when we finally came to terms, I told him to find me 60 months @ 6%. He said there was no way and I said fine, NO SALE. He called me up a couple of hours later and found 6.5%! Dealers get kickbacks for higher interest loans. Don't forget that. they make money on everything including financing and warranties. Speaking of which, you can even negotiate a warranty price. Just don't be like every other schmuck and give into to passion of getting this vehicle. Car dealers want you to buy on emotion, they make much more money that way. I spent a month in & out of thr dealership, before I bought. Take your time it's in you and your wallet's best interest.

wow, 6% and u must have an awesome rating! back when i got my CLs i think my mom got approved at 7.25% and her credit score was awesome. they probably gave u that kick ass price in lieu of the commissions they'll be raping you with, ask for a lower interest rate or walk.

MDX! Outstanding! Gongratulations.

I wish my budget had room for an MDX, my garage would look sweet with 2 Acuras!

But... I think I will get something a little less expensive now for a second vehicle (Rav4, CRV) and trade in my CL-P for a TL-S in a year or so!

Congrats! Like many people said, it sounds like they jipped you on the 13%, but other than that, sounds like a good deal!

Congrats on the MDX! That is awesome

Hope you guys can find a lower rate than the 13% you are at now. I would either look to banks you have accounts at (they usually will work with you since you have an account with them), or credit unions (they almost always offer the best rates).

Good luck and congrats again on the MDX!

Which credit union ? I've searched on Yahoo! but the result came out tons of credit unions!?

and since we don't have the contract coz the dealer's still holding onto it, is there any way that we can still get a better rate by going to our banks ? and then change it ?

please help

Nice!
I wanted my father to get an MDX, but the Mark VIII was in an accident (rear ended by tractor trailer) abotu six monthe too early. He needed a car, so an ML320 is sitting around now. My brother is in Erie, and took the ML320 due to the Lake Effect snow. So... we're on the market for another cheaper SUV for him to take back to Erie. He's a med student.

The Fed is rumored to be droping interest rates this week. 13% is way off base. Hold out for the rate drop and try to get an even better rate closer to 6% or 7% if your lucky.

You got totally ripped on the APR. Why didn't you use American Honda Finance, you were at a dealership. They would have beat the 13% by about 5% I think. Now if you have bad credit, that could explain the 13%. Either way I've heard of people being down at 6.75% and 7.0% with credit unions. Look at your contract, see who the loan company is, if it's not American Honda, then ask the dealer why. They may be getting a kickback for referring to that bank instead of American Honda since you had such a high APR.

They are offering it because my girl friend has no job and she's a first time buyer here in the States. I don't know, does it sound reasonable now ? or is it still rediculus ?

We'll try to start with her bank to ask for a better rate.

7.39% with excellent credit history from e-loan for 60 months. Plus next Wednesday Greenspan will probably be lowering rates another half a percent. So you can get into the high 6s% easy.

Just did research for this as we are getting an RX-300 for the wife (that thing rides so smooth...I was super impressed).
