You don't need to take the bumper off. I never took mine off.

you can also jack up the car which you'll need to anyways because it makes it a lot easier to work with, and unscrew the plastic doo dads under the car on the driver side and there is a plastic sheild (underneath where the stock airbox is) that will fold down allowing you access to remove the stock airbox, and enough room to clamp up the new piping for the intake.

Followed your advice and finished it.

Notes:

1. FL sun is HOT AS HELL!!! I started at aruond 1:00. I can barely hold tools that have been under sun so i had to throw em under car.

2. That engine refuses to cool down so i gung-ho'd it. I shut the car down at 10:30. coolant was ok thou.

3. How the hell does that last screw go in? (screws top cover down, the one all the way by the light) I can't get it to line up for the life of me!.

4. ITS SOOO DAMN HOT!!!! SHould have worn lotion! Good thing i'm not pasty white!

3 >> the last screw should go in with no problem, you may not have the filter lined up correctly, be sure that the nobby thing at the top of the filter is resting in the groove on the airbox, the filter does need to be rotated slightly to fit in just right.

4 >> i hate the damn heat! thank god i dont live in FL

just wanted to make sure

were you talking about the screw next to the headlight that holds the top of the airbox cover to the bottom, or the screw that bolts the bottom of the airbox to the body of the car?

yea, the box definetly needs convincing, it's not just your box,

sliding the top cover over the fliter to line up with bottom is tricky, it's a reallly snug fit. but it will fit, just gotta give it a little umph and wiggling. but it'll fit just fine.

good luck!

yeah, you need to try and get all 3 screws JUST started first, then tighten down..

BUT.. BEWARE, IF YOU GO TOO TIGHT WITH THAT PHILLIPS SCREW DRIVER YOU WILL STRIP THOSE NUTS RIGHT OUT.... AND THE SCREW WILL JUST TURN AND TURN AND TURN AND TURN...
