just bought my 01 CL

i just bought my 01 CL and i had a problem with the car i was driving and it just cut off on me werid thing is that i looked at all the lights and they were still on so i figured it wasnt the battery or anything like that so i shut off all the acces.. off and for sum reason the dome light was in the middle postion and it shouldnt have been on. no doors were open so have no clue why it was on and i just turned it to the off postion and i turned the car on fine. not sure if it had to do with that. but it started up.....neways i bought it with only a valet key(the grey one) i thought that it might be a problem driving with the valet key has anyone had a problem with that? does that sound like it could be the problem. is there a certain distance or time u can drive with the key? i also have a lil shake at idle not so drastic that the rpms r going up and down but the place where i got it from sd they detailed the engine and got water in a coil or sumthing like that not sure if that could be it. i also got my charging system checked and it was all good battery was good starter was good and alternator...besides those lil things car drives great it shifts smooth only thing i had to do was change the road lamp bulbs and buff the headlights they were very foggy

the idle going up and down is most likley a dirty iacv, their a diy on on to clean it, not hard at all. as to your light problem, not sure, possibaly a short. did the car die (turn off?) bc that might be a faulty ignition switch, really common on the 99tl's but can happen to the 01-03 tl and 01-03 cl also.

ignition switch would cause the car to cut off and you would be able to restart it
