wow, 5.94 sec 0-60?! And all you changed was the rubber?? Thats phatt man. Got any tips for launchin the car in a race as to not lose traction? Btw, what gear is our strongest & which is our weakest?

Rubber AND rims... BOTH are the key man.. I reduced about 50 lbs of unsprung and rotational weight by getting lightweight rims, and increased my stickiness by getting rid of the stock rubber...

Our strongest gears are 2 and 3... 4 is horrible... (2nd goes to over 60mph, like around 62mph, so don't shift to third before hitting 60mph in your 0-60) and 3rd goes just over 100mph... beyond that it's VERY SLOW acceleration when you hit 4th gear...

Best tip for launch - Put the car in SS mode, hold the brake down, push the gas slightly till the RPMS are about 1500 or so, then simultaneously release the brake and press the gas pretty hard (maybe 1/2 way down) and keep pressing it until it's floored within about 2 seconds... The 1-2 shift happens automatically, and don't shift to third until you are PAST 60mph and have hit your 0-60 time!

Does that make sense? It's also dependant on the weather, traction of the surface, type of tire you have, etc... So it's more just a matter of getting the gas pedal all the way to the floor, as fast as possible, without spinning the tires too much...

Good luck!

PS - Best tires to buy are Toyo T1-S proxes (best), Pole Position S-03 (2nd best), or Pirelli P-Zero Nero (3rd best)

I've used them all, and they are all kick-ass compared to nearly everything else out there... Of course, you have hoosier slicks and expensive p-zero assymettrico, etc... but those only last like 5,000 miles and have ZERO Traction in any weather except dry, hot asphault... so I don't consider those...

That's normal. That's the ABS system pressurizing. If you listen closely, it does that TWICE everytime you start your car. It happens the first time after you drive about 10-15 feet, then the second time (a bit quieter) after another 10-15 feet or so...

Stock tires... blah... so horrible...

Anyway, I'd run 32psi, like the manual says or the sticker in the door... You definitely don't want 36PSI on the stocks tires dude... They are horrible tires, and the more you inflate them, the less grip you will have...

First thing you should do is get new rubber/rims... Sell your old tires/rims as a set to an Accord owner.. They love our rims and it's a +1 upgrade for many of them... You can probably get like $600-$1000 for the stock set...

Or, if you can't afford new rims, get a new set of tires ASAP... Shouldn't cost you more than $600-$700 installed for 4 good toyo/pirelli tires...

see I would mod the engine but coming from my past car (an 02 Mitsu Lancer OZ) which had intake/exhaust/high flow cat) that shit got so annoying after a while you know. Whenever I was driving on the freeway it was hard to talk to someone in the car. It just got extremely annoying. And from what I'm told, a header gets your engine to be REALLY loud and the intake gets loud as well. Bleh, we'll see what I'll do. I want to get the cosmetics done first :P .

Question about tint on this car: After getting my windows tinted, when i look through my rear window @ night at the car lights behind me, the lights pretty much reflect vertically through each line on the window, as if they're multiple lights (if you understand me?) I was wondering if this happens on everybody else's CL after tinting the rear window..because I don't believe it did that b4 I tinted the window but i'm not sure. Some1 please help to let me know. Because if it isn't supposed to do that, I'll go back to the shop & complain :\

thanks!!!

as far as the reflecting thing goes... i dont know if thats normal... i could just be used to it? the tint could be f'd up. how does the tint look other than that? and kinda weird but do you think its your rear-view mirror acting up (the elctro-chromatic thing) or something weird like that? turn around and look out it.... any different?!? maybe turn off the electro-chromatic and see if its normal? i dunno man

whassup Legend..

I tried both...I turned off the auto-dimmer and it still did the same shit, plus I looked directly through the rear window myself w/out the rear-view mirror and it did the same shit. I don't know?? It's weird, the tint itself looks like its in great shape. I got it done bout 4 days ago...the tint place says it takes 10 days for all haziness/bubbles to go away, so maybe I should wait on it for another week and go back if its the same eh?

I bought mine from Tustin Acura as well. Good people there. Just don't make the same mistake and take it to college in Indiana. I get stuck left and right and the car is dirty as hell all the time. I feel so bad for my car.

Thats true, i forgot about the "setting time" Wait it out, see if it clears up?! Also, was it a pretty good high-end tint?

good question! lol, i dunno, what was the name / brand of the tint they use? Was it 3M or maybe Sunguard, or somethin like that? my biggest thing was a nice warranty. How is that back window doin? has it cleared up at all in the last few days? the company that tinted mine said after a few days to press around the edges to smooth it out. have u tryed that? but sounds like ur problem is the entire surface?!

peace

thx legend, Im'a find out what tint they use....here look

Night Time Defogger Distortion

At night you may notice that the light from headlights will reflect off of the defogger lines. This is caused by the film having to bend slightly around the raised defogger line, it varies from car to car, and there is nothing that can be done about it.

i got this off of: http://www.tintdude.com/care.html

Does anybody else get this reflection?? Cuz I have it on mine. I was just curious. Thanks

That's exactly waht I'm experiencing :\
