Question Jetta Almost......

The other night I was simply minding my own business driving a tad bit aggresive.
I pull up to this light and I take off to 50 then slow down to 40mph.....While I did this the modded Jetta, probably 00-02, exhaust, tach, air intake......so he passes me really fast. Then we meet up at the following light and I'm behind him light turns green he takes off I follow I switch lanes to pass him and he (I assume) floors it. So were neck and neck and I DID NOT pass him till 120! That supprise me for a Jetta.....Im driving an 04' NBP Apsec 6mt and this happened with VSA on....
Also when I hit 125 that he backed off.....

You drive a TSX? Nice kill but the speeds are excessive.

For a few hundred bucks those jettas can be modded with an extra 40hp/tq - then they will eat the TSX for lunch, dinner and breakfast. I bet he was modded. Either way, stock 1.8 jettas are no slouch vs the TSX.

hey i had to reply with this

Stock Jetta 1.8t 02-04 will run 15.1-15.3

Add a Chip, Downpipe, Forge 006 Diverter Valve

and your looking at high 13's-low 14's if you know how to drive

add a turboback instead of just the downpipe, and its in high 13's

you can get them into the 13s for less then 1000 bucks

The 1.8T is an ok car but like Hurley said you have to make it quick, that factory turbo aint all that but once it's manipulated it is pretty good.

yep . hey the factory turbo sucks .. its half the size of a dollar bill

but with just a chip you can boost it to 23/24psi no problem and it holds it allright
