It's the driver not the car

Last night on the freeway I was cruising along and came up behind a newer 328. Then we both drive by a car parked on the side of the road and the guy brakes hard and I almost ran into the back of him. I slam on the horn and then go around him. He decides to speed up to catch me. So gradually and smoothly I head up to 95-100 to lose him in the light traffic. This guy want to keep up but he keeps getting behind the *wrong* cars and wrong lanes. Every now and then I see him weaving around the other lanes while I'm just cruising along in the fast lane, and when I have to switch lanes, I make sure I'm not A) cutting anyone off B) Tailgating anyone. But he's doing A and B like crazy behind me. It was funny to see him try so hard and not get anywhere for at least 15-20 miles. Finally he turns off behind me, and I just say to myself "Poor drivers are everywhere, doesn't matter what car you drive."

Chuck Yeager had a said the same thing about jets. You could give an OK pilot a hot jet, and experienced (HOT) pilot would wax his tail.

I outraced some people in some pretty hot vehicles using a 1969 VW Squareback with Koni shocks. If I gave you the makes of cars that pulled off the road, you would never believe me again...

so true, it is the driver and not the car. this past weekend i'm driving on the right lane going about 30 to 35 miles when all of a sudden this guy behind me is really up on my ass. i speed up so to let him know to get off my ass, but he insists on being there, mind you i'm on a parkway where the speed limit is 45mph. at this point i'm getting pissed so i took off heading for the left lane. he tries to catch up, but being that i am an excellent street driver he can't fuck me. as i'm looking at my rear view mirror he's about, not kidding, 5 to 6 cars behind me.as traffic starts to happen i slow down to realize this guy was driving a 2002 or 2001 bwm m5 with dealer sticker intack. we look at each other and he gives me the thumbs up, letting me know although i have a much faster car, shit yeah, you win.... its not the car its the driver.......

And don't forget the holeshot, a .5-.7 sec jump is pretty imperceptible, but makes a world of difference in the typical 0-80 or 30-80 street race...
