I'm married, so I don't pay nearly as much as some here. My premium on the car is about $650/yr.

yeah, it's for 1 car :p

and my deductables are the max at $1000

tomorrow i'll scan in the letter from state farm that shows what they are deducting on the 28th of this month

my insurance just went up from 391 a month to 588 (actually it's 600.01/month without life insurance)

yup that's right, 600.01 a month.

i have 3 speeding tickets and 7 accidents on my recored.

yes, 7 accidents. i am only at fault for one. the 6 others are from people hitting me, totalling my cars, rearending me, you name it.

no other insurance company will take me. BUT state farm will keep me at 600.01 a month.

i just went to court today to schedule a court date to fight another ticket i got last month, AND i just got in the mail my other ticket i got two weeks ago from a CHP.

i hope i win the first one so that i can goto traffic school for the second since i only get 1 traffic school.

if i lose the first one, it will go on my record, thus, increasing my insurance even more on the next renewal .

yup, my life sux
yay! i found an old quote

*edit*
of the three speeding tickets i currently have on my record, two of them are supposed to come off soon one in january and one in march

oh yeah , and on top of all that:

two months ago i got a "running a red light" which i'm fighting on Dec 5 to keep it off my record. hopefully i win. if not, it goes on my record as a point.

a week after that ticket i got a "following too closely" from CHP. i'll goto traffic school to keep that one off. so consider that one a goner

two weeks ago on my way to the West coast oregon meet, i got a 80 in a 70 from CHP. since i'm going to traffic school for the "following too closely" one, i cannot take it a second time, which means this one IS going on my record

THEN, while at the meet with the other 12 cars, we are coming back from Crater Lake and i get into a situation where i end up passing somebody on the shoulder. got poped seconds later by oregon state police for reckless driving , which is a two point offence and a Crime (misdemeanor). they didn't take me to jail, but i got the ticket.

i got off the phone just a bit ago with the public defenders office in oregon and i MUST show up for the first appearance which is next week! (yeah, only 3 weeks after the damn ticket).

so now i have to drive to oregon (6 hours) and go to the appearance. THEN i can get an attorney OR a public defender to represent me at the pre-trials.

yup, who wants my life? anybody , anybody?

Dude! And I'm worried because I just got my first speeding ticket! At least although it's technically reckless (20+ in VA) the guy left it at 'speeding'. Hope I don't piss off the judge and have the charge bumped to reckless! I tend to be a smartass when confronted by authority figures

BTW - $996... 23 y/o single clean record as far as the insurance company knows

This for a 2003 CL-S w/navi and onStar, so I get a discount because of the stolen vehicle tracking.

Hmmmm... who do you have it with??? I'm getting raped @ ~$1500/yr, especially considering it's on the books as garaged in Northridge and married. Damn insurance.

Mine is with State Farm. I also have renters and two cars, so there's multi-car and multi-line. Plus I have every other discount in the book. Oh and it's "<7,500 miles a year" also, which helps a lot. I am very lucky and glad I kept a good record over the years...

With Zero points and single (27-28 yrs old):

1. Paid $1600/yr in 2000 with Safeco.
2. Paid $1300/yr in 2001 with Travelers.

Now, 1 speeding ticket and married at 29:

3. Pay $650/yr with Electric Insurance.

Try it: http://www.electricinsurance.com/

I saved about 50%. My friend just bought a 330ci and saved about $600 also over other companies.
