I have a question about the Pennsylvania yearly State Vehicle Inspection.

Does your State Emission and State Vehicle inspection have to match your registration month?

For example, my inspection runs out this month (5/04), but the registration is good till 10/04. So, they will only give me an inspection sticker till 10/04. Which means I will have to pay for 2 inspections in 1 year.

My friend is a mechanic and he says that it is not "LAW" that have need to match, but more so an easy way of keeping track of things.

So I argued with the Acura service writer to give me a sticker that says 8/05.... Because they can be good up to 15 months. Then next year, I will come in August, then they can give me a sticker that says 10/06 and all the numbers will match..

There is a local garage that said that will do that for me, but I need to pay for both the inspection (20 bucks) and an emission (40 bucks). But Acuras gives me free inspections so all I need to pay is 40 now and 40 in October.

But more so the money, it was the principal. So I wanted to know if the numbers needed to match... By LAW... Because they said that they called the State and they were told on the phone that they needed to match, but no where can I find written ENFORCEABLE LAW. And word of Mouth is not enforceable..
